I have 'external canting' adjustment on my Free X's, what exactly does it do? I can't figure it out.

cheers

it adjusts the angle of your cuff...for example if you are a bit knock-kneed (like i am) then you want neg. (i think) canting...it's actually really nice and gives your boots a little bit more custom fit

the easiest way to set your cant is to loosen up the screws a bit, put your boots onandjust flex forward in them a couple times, that will usually get it fairly close. then just tighten the screws up tak e the boots off. otherwise you can get all tech take the liners out, jput your feet in both boots standing up, bust out the plum bob. thats pretty much a pain in the ass and you need an extra hand, and unless you are an expert skier you probably won't be able to tell the difference.

fuk that

The others are right but they didnt say why. If you have bugn legs then when you stand straight up your leg(s) are on a slight angle. this means that your ski is slightly on edge when it should be flat on the snow. canting fixes this. if your boots didnt have this feature you can put duct tape on one side of your bindings where the bottom of your boot meets the binding. but this is a bit rough. unless you have got a problem you should leave it alone. if you do have a problem you should see a proper boot fitter.
