Can't stop Bruised SHINS!!

Hey,

My shins are always getting briused everytime I go out and launch jumps. Especially If I land in the back seat. I got salomon 1080 boots and its still happening. I usually ride in NY, so it sucks, but I got to go to UTAH for a week. So I was dropping some nice cliffs, and one day I got the courage for a 35 fter, I landed and exploded into powder and bruised the SHIT out of my shins, since then it's been bad after eveytime I do a 360 or just land a little back on the jump. The boots might be a lttle big for me because they packed in, so I'm going to try a size smaller next time. But still I don't think it will help, I also wanted to try the salomon Performa 7.0 boot. I tryed one on and they flex nice and they have good padding. So i'm wondering if I need a softer boot?? I figured the 1080 boot was soft enough. or Maybe the smaller size will help. Any INFO would be great. Thanks

get one of those booster straps (i'm sure someone on here has the website). your leg won't be able to move around as much, so it won't hit the front of the boot

booster straps help, but i have shaved my shins, and they stopped hurting, it's wierd but it works

People Keep saying that shaving your shins helps. HOW DOES THIS WORK??? it sounds magical!!

dunno but ill swear by it. 1080 boots are too soft, go pro model, they have a shock absorber in the bottom.

One thing that i have that no one else seems to have is an extra tounge. it's like weird, but super good. i don't know what it's called, but they velco on top of your toungue, and you squish them forward when you'd normally crack your shin of the front. they're frickin amazing.

What the fuck do you expect? It's like leaving a crackhead in a room full of crack, you know what's gonna happen.

Yah, most people when they get shin bang think their boots are to tight, when in fact it happens when they are too loose.

better to burn out...

...then fade away

shin bang happens either from boots being too tight or too loose. If you have them done up too tight then when you land back seat its straining the muscles and even putting pressure on the bone. The most common tho is if the boot is too big, any gap between your shin and the tounge means shin bang. Booster Straps and extra tongue padding are the answer if your boots don't fit right.

i bought these rossi boots off andy stewart and they are like 4 years old, so i dont know what kind they are, but they are sorta like the modle before the soft boot came out and they are killer, i have had no problem with them

my friends have had mad shin bang as well, and they say to rub your pole up and down your shin really hard so it hurts like a bitch, but will eventually do something to your nerves in your shins so it wont hurt, they claim it works

speaking of bruised shins... shin bang typically happens where ur boot hits ur shin right? ok well now im gettin MAD bruises between the top of my boot and the bottom of my knee cap, that and thier swelling whenever i ski and it hurts like a bitch to put pressure on the front of my boot... anyone else get this??? right now im just icing and Advil but its not enough ... and i ski at least 3 days a week and its starting to piss me off!!

my shins were hurting for a long time but now they are getting better and its almost gone. I would just keep skiing and it should eventually get better, oh and i ski in ny too so i know how it is

The shit hasnt even begun to hit the fan

i havent tried it but my friend put like soccer shingaurds between the boots and shins

not like bulky ones but the ones that refs get angry cause they are too small, he said it worked and its cheap

seriously, it doenst solve the whole problem. even with teh strap, i still get shin bang. i am gonna try putting bubble wrap in it, i dont think my boots have enough padding in the shin area,

dont do that... it creates an unsmooth area and cuses sever presure points. It is something that has to happen, its been happening everytime in the beggining oof the season for me. Just take it easy and it will go away.... believe me.

rub your shins with your poles, like rolling dough for bread or something, hurts like a bitch but it works really good!

Why I'm I here? To go bowling?
