Can't ski with music?

So I had yet another run in with Greek Peak ski patrol today. Apparently i'm not allowed to use head phones because its too distracting. Maybe somebody else has insight into this, but these guys appear to be wearing headphones while they drive around snowmobiles at 50 miles an hour, isn't that kind of hypocritical?

I grew up skiing Geek Peak. The ski patrol don't have much to do there....though it does get ass crowded during holiday weekends...

 
Yea skiing and listening to music are basically the two things I do. Put them together and its like an orgasm, fuck them they can't take that away from me.

yea 13 year old racer in vail died 2 weeks ago, she was blasting her ipod while warming up for a race, and colided (sp?) with a snowmobile and died. they dunno who ran into who, the snowmobile was going uphill but still he would ahve been on the outside of a the turn and still even with music on your awhere of whats around you.

i listen to music when i am skiing with my earphones and then with my giro bad l. helmet i have music going. still i can hear whats going on around me, and it pisses me off when people give me shit for listening to music while i ski cause 'thats how that lil girl was killed'

Just use earbud style phones under the earflaps of your helmet or your beanie or whatever. They'll never know the difference. And if they give you shit I'd ask them to point out where it says in the agreement on the back of your lift ticket that you can't ski without headphones.

Have you ever seen a little kid slide back down the inrun of a kicker without going over? This is why parents shouldn't dump their kids off anywhere near the park...
 
It's just stupid to refuse people to listen to music while skiing.

You can still hear what's going on around you...

ya i have seen that posted on a sign at one of the hills around me. THe only problem i have is that my discman gets too cold to work right and starts to skip and turns off anyone know what i could do here. i have it in my pocket and i was thinking about puting one of those hot paws hand warmers in my pocket with it.

Yah just keep it low and they will never even know u r lisening to music. Plus any good skier knows everything going on around them and you can still hear anyways

 
get tune ups, you can still here stuff around you if its not to loud. if i wasnt able to listen to music id headbut someone in the face.

Spyder are you sure that your discman skips cause its cold and not cause it got impact? cause i used to ski with a discman and i bailed on it, after that it would always skip and turn off

 
skiing with music is awesome...i can't ski with people and listen to music at the same time though because i can't hear anything.

yeah I like to listen to whats around me, if i'm skiing alone music is cool but everyones different. They had to of caught you when you were eithier on the lift or in line righ? so take them off when your not skiing they will never know

Hopefully I will be skiing the Big K in VT until January, and the other K in CA for the rest of the season.
 
thats a dumb rule, the patrol at mt mtn cant reall bother you cause they r all like 60 and cant ski
