Can't quite get 270 on

YES, I did searchbar it, but most of the results were about 270 off or whether they're easier on rails or boxes, and stuff like that.

Anyways, we built a foot long box, and I started trying 270's on today. My first hit was just an ugly failure, but after that, about 15 times in a row I would make it on with my balance perfect and everything, but only make it about 200 degrees around, resulting in me basically switch 50/50ing the box. I prewind, look around my shoulder and everything, but just can't make that last 70 or so degrees. For some reason, no matter how hard I try though I never fully felt like I was 100% commiting and hucking as hard as possible. I wasn't scared at all after like the first 5 hits, so that wans't the problem, I just never fully felt commited, anyone else ever had that problem? There's only a tiny like 6 inch gap on, since I didn't feel like killing myself hen I was just learning, and I was only clearing like a foot and a half on, but I still just couldn't get the last bit of rotation. I think I'm so used to spinning just 180, my body just stops rotating there? Anyone have tips? Thanks.

dont need to pre wind for a 270.. Just come up to the box with it between your legs, wait for the lip, pop a lil first, then look look over your shoulder quick, not down at your feet . its bearly any rotation

if your spinning unnaty so that you can land comfortable foot forward, you'll have an easier time if you switch that . Sliding unatty is easier than spinning unatural especially if your box is a foot long...

If you can 360 off the ground you can 270 onto a one foot long box, but dude, how do you expect to get 270 onto a 1 foot long box, alot of dudes that 270 onto stuff only 240 on and then let the rest of the 30 degrees flow on the box, that way they have time for edge drags to pretzel and stuff before they are all the way at 270. If you want just keep trying your 220's onto the box and try to look for the end of the box once you land on the box, and then you will keep sliding around 50 extra degrees onto the box, but if the box is only 1 foot long that won't be much room for you to keep sliding around

Damn I feel retarded, I meant to say it's a foot WIDE, it's actually 12 feet long. Still kindof short for some stuff, but lpenty long enough for this. Thanks for the advice, good thing aobut backyard setups is you can just keep beating yourself up on them all day long.

I had the exact same problem. Make sure you pop really hard, and BRING YOUR KNEES UP when you spin. That's what solved it for me.

Honestly the way that I started learning 270's on was on some wider boxes, I would just 180 onto the box and then let my extra 90 happen while on the box, this got me comforatable landing blind on boxes, so I didn't have to see the box when I did the 270, after that I started doing 270 and they were more comforatable. I have found that my old 180 way of learning the 270 has helped me to learn to stop my spin on a box, cause I can let my feet 270 and only let my torso spin 200 on, and that lets me get my edge drag and set up for a pretzel.

You need to throw it like a three. just keep turning the head and shoulders.

i had the EXACT same problem and i tucked up my legs and spun it like a three. its the way to do it bro.

Hope that helps...

spin your body all as one, dont try to huck to hard with your arms. Just keep your torso and legs aligned and lead with your head.

well when you hit your hardcore foot long box and try to 270 on make sur you wind up alot, pop, and just look over your shoulder for where you want to land.

its really not that hard, its like spinning 3/4ths of a 360 onto a box. You just gotta break it down and do it

just chuck it.. look around and look at where you want to land..  but try on a real box.. a foot long box isnt the right thing to try on....

nope, dont do that. Invision it in your head and almost plan it out, commit to landing right at 270 otherwise when u do get it you'll just butter like a 5 on a real box...

Thanks for the help, I finally started fully commiting, and throwing my head all the way around is what really did it. I can get the rotation almost perfect and consistently now, but I've got to work on my sliding unnatural, because almost every time I slide out a couple feet after I land.
