canon vs. nikon

i am looking for a slr. I am looking for a camera that can take good action pictures and was looking at the canon eos elan 7. does anyone have any experience with this or can anyone recommend another camera.thanks

 
i shoot with both a nikon n70. i have also shot photos witht eh elan 7E and nikon n90. i think for the money the n70 is the best. 3.7 fps motordrive, and all kinds of other features, and usually pretty cheap compared to other cameras. i perfer nikon to canon, but they are both good. i'd look for a n70.

 
both nikon and canon are equally good. but the canon ellan7 is actually a higher end model than the n70, I would also look at the n90 or a canon A2 used. by getting a used body you can get a much better built and more highend of a camera for a lot less. check out www.photoworldweb.com they got good prices, and good gear, plus they are helpfull and trustworthy

 
I have used the elan 7 a lot...good camera, easy to use. I like canon better than nikon cause you can adjust everything very easily without ever taking the camera away from your eye. The thumb dial and finger dial allow you to shoot full manual real easy. The verticle grip is a great feature too, plus you can use AA bateries verse the expensive ones normally needed. The elan 7 is fast than the N70 and n80...shoots a fraction over 4fps and the focus motors on canons are faster than nikons. The biggest deciding factor if you dont already have lenses and other stuff should be the comfort in your hand. An N80 and Elan 7 are really similar see which one you like better...dont get the 7E that eye control sucks when trying to take pics of things like skiers and skaters you will look to the side and everything goes out of focus. Nikon.

I use an old FE and it rock. Canon switches their mounts around too much. And their bodies look like plastic pieces of crap. Nikon rocks for sure.

Both are great cameras and companies. You can't really go wrong with any SLRs from Cannon and Nikon.

well, you cant go wrong with these two as long as you dont buy them from walmart or even target. you can really feel a difference, esp. in the focusing quality.

I would go with the Nikon over the Canon, just cause Nikon overall make a better camera. But if you want a sick camera look for Contax. I'm using the Contax 139 Quartz right now and it is fuckin' sweet.

Contax is rarer than Nikon or Canon but they are very well built camera's probably only second to Leica for best camera made. Later.

 
i use tiffen haze and polorizing filters. i think they're the best cuz my shots come out looking sweet.

as for bags, you can't go wrong with LowePro
