so I fooled around online for awhile and found canons video plug in for the 7d and 5d etc. and then i followed instructions to change the coding to allow the t2i (550D) to work as well. unfortunately i still cannot get it to work. when i try to log and transfer my files i get the error message:
"100CANON" has invalid directory structure. Please choose a folder whose directory structure matches the supported media.

according to the blogs i have been reading this should not be happening. does anyone have any solutions to this?

sorry, premature posting, read the bottom about not using text edit, it will give you a link to download text wrangler.

i used textedit at first and then realized it wasnt working, so i went back and deleted the plug in, re downloaded it and edited it using text wrangler with still no success. this sucks.

i have them on a hard drive, in addition to a SD and neither seem to be working. I know i got all the text wrangler coding right, so maybe i just restart my mac and see if it works??

ya i saw that that worked for someone so i figured id try it. unfortunatley still not working. in the 100canon folder i have a bunch of jpg images, from taking stills on the same card, do you think that could be a problem?

No, it shouldnt matter if you have images on the card, try uninstalling everything and then go through the process again and restart your computer and just shoot some b-roll on the card.
