Canon SLR to DSLR t2i lens/upgrade?

Sup fellas? I've tried search-barring this and searching the internet, but I need a quick response that addresses all these questions.

I want to get a Canon DSLR that shoots video (T2i?) for the best value ($500-$800).
I have a Canon Elan7 35mm SLR with a Sigma lens.
Will a Canon DSLR fit my Sigma lens? Would you recommend the T2i? It sounds like the T3i isn't any better.

I have a GL2 right now, and I have plenty of video/photo experience to fully use the DSLR.
Also, once I get this I'll be selling a sick GL2 set-up. If there is anyone out there interested make me an offer. If anyone is interested in the Elan7 send me an offer too. Great camera for a photography class.

if the lens was fitting on the elan7 it will fit on the t2i. And i personally wouldn't bother buying the t3i. the price difference isn't really worth it (unless you really want the swively screen)

Yeah it fit the T2i, thanks for the advice.
I forgot to ask, what do I need/should buy to store the video capture? Do I need to buy an SD card or what?

it will most likely come with a card, but yeah, you will need an sd card, at least a class 6 card

When I bought my t2i it didnt come with an SD card. Make sure you have a class 6 sd card too otherwise you wont be able to shoot video.
