yeah i have the optura 20 and i love it far and away one of the best one chip cameras out there, it gets better images than lots of low-end 3 chippers too, go buy it now

if im right the optura is a 3 chip and has the same built in CCD's as the gl1 and gl2 but the difference is it has less manual controls and featurs but the resalution is the same so i am guessing that it wuold be a great investment for a person that wants high quality video but not a profesion in video id say go with that camera probly the best for the money

gl1 is a weak, trust me dont buy it. Much more worth it to find a used vx1000 or even a gl2. But vx1 is the best choice for outdoor, mostly bright shooting
