Canon HV 30... help

Well my friend sold his camera so i need to get an HD. Its been asked to death, is the HV30 a good value for its price. Also with this deal, you guys trust it?

Buy it from b&h or a local shop or something. You'll want new too, you'll get so much more out of it. Spending money isn't always a bad thing.
