Canon GL2 - great condition, lots of extras, best offer

The good - GL2 in great condition up for grabs. Need money to cover gas for the rest of ski season and taxes in April. Comes with bag, shoulder/neck strap, lens hood, one normal battery and one high capacity battery, a charger that will charge both batteries at once, and a UV filter. Also have a Raynox MX3000 semi-fisheye that will be included for the right price. All glass is scratch-free, and lcd and viewfinder work with no problems.

The bad - There are several small screws missing on the bottom of the camera right by the tripod mount. It was this way when I bought it from the original owner and it was never a problem for him and hasn't been for me. The other issue is that I was getting a dirty heads prompt the first few times I used the camera after buying it, but ran a head cleaning tape through it the other week and have had no problems the past two weekends. Other than that it is in great condition. There are several small buffs on the side from being stored in the bag during transportation, but these are extremely small. Most sellers wouldn't even mention these things, but in the interest of honesty and full disclosure I feel it is only appropriate to do so.

As noted I'm looking for best offer. It will be shipped insured using professional packing materials, and I can provide references on being a good seller through NS. I'll include a link to the ebay auction if I decide to do that, but am not in a huge rush to sell this. I'd rather offer it up to a skier or boarder first, and if there isn't much interest around here I'll do the ebay thing.

Will try to get some pics up soon, thanks.

if you don't get any offers here...try skateperception in the "wanting to buy" forum theres got to be someone looking for one.

Thanks for the tip! I lurk around on SP once in a while but have never posted there and know they require some "street cred" before you try to push something over there. Spread the word if you know anyone who is interested!

im interested but have no idea what to offer. pm what price your thinking and ill consult with my freind who knows what hes talking about.

Not a reasonable offer for this camera. You'll have better luck on ebay. Look for models with broken screens, buttons, viewfinders, or playback and they'll be closer to your price range. Happy camera hunting!

The only thing I have hosted right now is on youtube which kills quality, not to mention it was a bad day for filming. Just bought it in the fall and have only had time for one edit with it.  Let me see if I cant get some more footy up in better compression in the next day or two.

this camera may be in good condition but ive only had bad luck with gl2 and hate them

dont know what your talking about, my friend shoots with one, did in basically a white out, it got covered in snow and is still fine..i find its durable and unless you wanna shoot in high quality hd, the gl2 is one of the better cameras you can buy, plus all the things your getting with this i see no reason why not to if your looking to upgrade into a medium/ high range of camera.

long bump i guess

GL2 Pros: It's 3CCD, which gives it better picture quality and better colors. Lots of accessible manual features: aperture, focus, ect. Important to some: Having a prosumer camera like that makes you look legit when your filming. It has a Fluorite lens which gives strong contrast, resolution and colors. It has an optical zoom control on the handle and on the standard grip. In general, its easy to pick up and use, but has many additional features if you need them.

Cons: NOT 16:9 native. It can shoot in 16:9 but it is filmed in a warped 4:3 and then adjusted later (There is no letterboxing in the LCD or Viewfinder, so it's sometimes difficult to tell how your subject is framed within the shot. It also doesn't shoot in 24p, it shoots at 30fps. 24p gives your shots the "film look" It also isn't stellar in low light, but its decent.

This camera is pretty awsome if you are relatively inexperienced, and won't know the difference. It will give you killer picture quality, and definitely is everything you need for shooting semi-pro/ amateur ski/snowboard movie. It may not have what you need for other applications.

As of right now the camera is no longer for sale, but will likely be up for sale closer to the summer months. Thanks for the interest.
