Anyone have one?? does it work well for skiing? I heard that sony is the way to go for action and sports..but im REALLY looking into the GL-1..kinda expensive though..but anyway..Is it worth the money?

i have one but for the money i woulda rather gotten a vx2000 plus there coming out with a gl2 soon next year anyways.. if your gonna buy a gl1 tho hurry up because until june 30th u can get a $250 cash back from canon thats what i did for 1500$

no one knows about the gl2, so i wouldnt go around saying that its coming. i used to be all out for vx2000 but the gl1 has dropped in price from what im hearing from you guys so it looks like gl1 has taken over the top spot for value.

I have a gl1 and im very very satisfied with it.

canon released the xl-1s a while ago to upgrade their xl-1, and the gl2 should be coming out sometime too.

its a good camera and worth it if you're serious about makin a movie or whatever, but if you just want a camera to dick around with, its not worth spending all the money.

if i was to get one it would be for making movies and such...but where do you guys get all this money?! god im like broke..and the 250$ rebate sounds nice....i think im gonna have to hold out until like this fall though..yea i heard about the gl2..but if that comes out..the price for the gl-1 will go down..which will be nice..

if there is a second one coming out hold off on getting it cause the first version will go down a few hundred for sure. At my store as soon as a new Canon comes out the prices gooooo way down. But I'm working tonight so i'll check what kind of deal i can get you. Go around to stores near you, and be really nice and tell them that you can get a good deal, all places will lower their prices, you just have to ask them, be persistent, that always helps :)
