Anyone use this camera? I'm really interested in it but none of the reviews I've read have been by any sports photographers that take pics of stuff like skiing or boarding or biking or whatever. If you own it, tell me how it is please.

i've had mine for 3 1/2 years now and i like mine, its quite a bit cheaper than a nikon and with most all the same features you'd get. A tip is to just buy the body and buy a nice lense seperate (unless you already have a few), i recomend the Tamron 28-200mm its pretty dope and then you're not carrying around multiple lenses all the time.

I like to ski, I don't like to drive I-70

Is that the one for like only 200 or 300 bucks? My dad is gonna buy my sister on of thoughs models. He know photography real well and he says it's and awesome camera

The rebel 2000 is quite a decent sports camera. With a 7 point autofocus system, it will lock onto any subject quick quicky.

I think it takes 2.5 frames per second which makes it decent for sequence shots.

The only downside to the camera (which is a downside for all low-end slr cameras) is that the body is quite cheap. The plastic ring on the inside will crack a lot easier than the metal ring on the rebel ti.

The only thing that I want to ponit out is that I believe the model was just discontinued. We have taken that product off our shelf and we are no longer getting any in.

In short, it is a great beginner camera, so pick one up while you have the chance.

Just get a Canon A2 - around $1000 retail but you can get a brand new one for $300 now cause its few years old. Thats what i use and its a very good SLR beter than the rebel. You can shoot up too 1/8000th second and it has 5 FPS(check out the sequences ive posted on here). Just check out Ebay or some online photo stores and see how much you can get it for. Check out the pictures in my profile if ya wanna see how good of pics it takes.
