Canon EOS-D30 help?

so I want ot get into the world of digital photography and my friend has an older Canon EOS-D30 that he wants to get rid of. Is this a worth while purchase for me? and how much do you think I should look at to pay for just the body?
 
yes, it's a sick camera. I don't know if you want to drop the $$ if you're just starting, but if you do, it's a great camera.

You're looking at a little over 1000 new, so probably 800 is close, depending on how used it is
 
no he's talking about the old D30 the cheaper version of the D60, not the brand new 30d

And as for price I would take a rough guess on about $275-350 depending on how used and how well it was taken care of.
 
like the super old one??? i ahve no idea about it, but i shoot with a new 20 d which is pretty much the same as the newer 30d., just smaller scrreeen size. they are good cameras though. 
 
yea its the old one from like 2000 maybe? i just want it beacsue my friend will sell cheap and he rarely used it. but he bought it used too for i think 800 like 3 years ago.
 
It's a sick camera, my friend uses one so in turn I do to. If it's that cheap I say go for it, if you're not satisfied you won't have much trouble selling it.
 
Yeah, price what they're going for on Ebay, probably $300 is fair. Just be careful, buying batteries and chargers seperate is a rip off, hopefully it comes with that stuff. Awesome to learn with since it uses the EF lenses which all Canon digi's use. You'll be spending more on lenses than the camera in the long run, but they last and you can keep them.

As you learn, you can upgrade the D30 to something that is more worthy if you want to keep going.....there's definitely some drawbacks to it but to learn on, it's great for the money. also make sure it is in decent shape, would cost more to fix than it's worth....

and buy good lenses, so worth it....$$$
