do you guys think this is a good first camera? i could get one with a 28-80 zoom lense for 350 in my city for pickup? yay nay?

can you guys give me the positives and negatives im just starting to get into photography and i don't know much about it.hell i know more about film then digital lol

yeah probably. i didn't even know a d60 existed...it's weird that they would've changed the D to go after the number (20D, 30D, etc). basically any canon dslr will rule.

not if you plan to shoot skiing with it, ive worked at a camera shop for five years and take it from me, anything before the 10d is really to slow to shoot action with (slow autofocus, slow shooting, slow reacting) go with something 10d or up.

ok, so what would be a cheap DSLR for me, used preferably so that i can get something better for about the same or cheaper... ideas?

brands i like:

kodak

pentax

fuji

canon

nikon

mostly looking for canons or nikons ill search up on the 10 D the

well i have a chance to get a rebel xt now, 400 bnib yay or nay for shooting sports? and also any canon lense will work with a canon camera right?

I have the D60 and have found that it still shoots rather quickly. I like it more than the Rebel because it still offers a bit more manual features and has a more solid feel. I personally think that the Rebel and Rebel XT feel cheap and like a toy but thats personal preference.

pentax k10d. such a solid camera for the money. seriously look into this. Everyone on here is going to say shoot nikon of canon. i just ditched my canon setup for this and couldnt be happier.
