Canon 5DmkII Slow mo

I've checked all around internet about getting slow mo shots with my 5DmkII. It made total sense I couldn't get higher FPS with built in settings, I also believe Magic Lantern doesn't push this parameter (although you can higher shutter angle). Last option is post production. Now I'd like to know how you get a slow mo of skiing shot. I appreciate explanation on slowing down a guy walking but damn, slowing skiing isn't quite the same, hence my question in this forum.

Lets say I shoot all my shots at 1/50th. How can I slow a 24fps (not suuuuper slow mo) just enough to feel a change of rythme in the shot and emphasize on some shots.

Thanks for answers.

You can't really slow down 24fps video very well. You can just make the framerate lower, like doing it half speed and showing 12 frames per second, or have something like twixtor generate more frames in between what the camera already captured (though there's usually lots of artifacting/weird looking glitches)

Basically, I kinda know all the issues related to slowing shots and how complicated it is.. So i'm wondering, if I shoot 24,97fps at a shutter at say 1/100. I should be able to slow down without too much trouble right? That's basically all I want to know.

If you shoot 30p you can slow it down to 80% and itll look okay.

Really, the best way to get slow mo is with a higher frame rate. Twixtor could help you out but itll look shitty.

That's what I figured. So as I suggested in my last post, will pushing the shutter speed make a difference in the FPS or shutter speed is essentially used for exposure ?Thanks

Sorry for double post. I see on youtube super slow mo footage shot on 5Dmkii. I do realize the slow mo you see isn't the best out there, but In my use, I'll be slowing down maybe half speed so I guess it should look okay when I see what people do on youtube.I'm a little confused about the possibilities of my camera...

twixtor is actually pretty decent if you just want to be able to go down to like 50-60% with 30p footage. i wouldn't go any lower but just give it a try and if you can notice the twixtor, speed it up a bit. and of course 80% will look perfectly fine from 30p without any twixtor.

I had the same issue myself. Had to move on to a different camera because I could lnever get what i wanted. 5d is still my baby, id never leave her ha
