I could really do with your help! if you own a 40D could you switch to manual mode, set the appature to f/4 go to live view with exposure simulation turned on and decrease the shutter speed (lengthen the exposure) until the "exp.sim" indicator on the screen flashes, this is the point at which the sensor can no longer collect enough light to accurately display the predicted image, I have a horrid feeling mine is broken, after some idiot in the camera shop trying to sell me a new lens tried fixing a Nikon lens to my Canon body....

Much appreciated, +++Karma for taking the time to help me out.

i would bring it back or bring it to a better camera shop. I have a nikon so i couldnt really help yah out.. i dont think..

haha; hit the info button a few times once in live view mode, you might also need to engage it in the menus.

really a nikon lens to a 40d wow i would have punched him. but take it to a good shop and see what they say.

it is heaven... no shot need ever be shitty again, although I hardly ever use it, it does make for epic shots. I love how you can go on live view, then "virtually" zoom in 10x and focus manually perfectly. it is amazing for macro shots...

haha, rebels are awesome, I bought a 40D which left me with no money for any decent glass.... I'd kill someone for a 100-400mm L

don't lie to yourself, rebel is my ownage camera and its all i can afford, just look at my photos and tell me the piece of technology (350d) does not do beautiful things. But i would kill by a 40d or 5d let alone a mark3.
