Im buying a t2i and instead of buying a wide angle lens and a zoom lens i figure get one lens thats somewhat in the middle that way its cheaper. Does the 18-135 fit this criteria?

Well as with any lens, the bigger the difference in focal lengths the lower quality the image is going to be. Personally I think it'd be better to get something like the Rokinon 8mm/Tokina 11-16 and then another lens like the Tamron 17-50. However, if you need the extra range then you might want to just buy the kit lens and a 70-200.

It really depends on your budget though.

definitely this. you'll never find an "all in one" lens thats of higher quality than shorter ranges. and don't let anyone discourage you from the kit lens. if you can afford something better, go for it, but it's really not that bad for how cheap it is. you can get good results as long as you can work the camera
