Cannon Gl2

WATCH OUT FOR SCAMMERS, my friend almost bought a GL2 for around a 1000 dollars off a website, right before he bought it he looked up reviews and the website would have scammed him, he read reviews for a lot of the sites that come up on a google search and all of them would have scammed him

then i saw a news report on digital camera scamming websites online...be careful, i would try and find a camera at a local store or something versus the internet, cause getting scammed out of a grand would suck

Im gonna have to back up allen here. The gl2 was cool.......when it came out 6 years ago. Sure its got some pretty likable features like manual controls, but it really isnt worth what they are selling it for anymore. Panasonic GS-500 would be great, pretty good manual controls and its a 3CCD camera. It sounds like you really havent done much filming anyway, so why dont you just forget about manual controls cause youll probably fuck the shot anyways.....

gl2 is a 3ccd too if thats what you were saying?

and i disagree my friend bought a gl2 the same time i bought my vx2100 and there great starter cams i think. you get an awesome picture once you know what your doing and all the manual controls are good i think cause there not too intense on the cameras its a good place to learn from

I'm gonna have to disagree, I found there to be a significant difference in quality between my GL2 and my friend's gs400. My footage seemed a lot more appealing and more film-like with 30p whereas his looked extremely digital and overly sharp/ugly in my opinion. I also found that the GL2 got better colors and reproduced the image better, especially in good light.

GL2s do not shoot 30p, sorry to burst your bubble. They shoot the same 60i every other SD camera (other than a select few) shoot.
