The candides are still a rippin ski, yes a little old and you should take off that stupid grip tape, but still a kickass ski. We have a bunch at corbetts for super cheap like 250 - 260 canadian or soemthing like that.

Candides have the dopest graphic ever...A bunch of dudes chilling around a fire with the smoke rising up against the mountain backdrop. Reminds me of Candide's Royalty steez. Which also resolves the issue of the best ski movie ever.

hahah, thats what my broke ass is on right now! as an all around twin, they're sick, yeah not as wide as some of the stuff out this year and last but i got em at the beginning of last season when they went on clearence cause i liked em the few times i rode em when they came out and their first two years. anyways, the stiffness makes up for the skinniness. meh, rambling

how similar are the candide's to last year's (blue) concepts? like stiffness and whatever. do they grind good

 
I rode the Candides for 1.5 years and I was very, very pleased with them (I had the 165cm's). They are an excellent park ski ok in crud, and they are good in powder that is less than 1.5ft. deep and if you weight less than 160lbs. They are a little sketchy on ice going high speeds (I hit a death chunk, caught an edge and did about 3 lincoln loops before landing). I had mine until I cracked an edge from to much rail sliding and got then warrentied. I ended up getting the 2001 concepts which are the same exact ski minus the graphics and grip tape. Overall the Candide is a great ski.

 
candide's are dope, i rode them for awhile

and i'll have to agree with liam, royalty is definately the best ski movie ever, with 13 follwing behind it

propaganda for sure...as for candides, i love them, they will be a GREAT ski for someone with a more traditional skiing background (you), and the only difference between them anbd the blue concepts is they're stiffer and better graphics

ive rided the candides for one and a half years now n there pretty sick... all i would change about them is the tip, tail ,and width.... id make the tip not as pointy and id make the tail bigger and id make it a bit wider but overall its really sweet.... and my favorite ski movie is probably happy dayz

theres a triangle on the ski, and it has a rough coating, so its easier to grip.

I have heard a few cases of the edge pulling out from rails, but they sound like a good park ski. just don't grind rails to much, it will make you better at jumps anyway. which is good because its easy for new skiers to become addicted to rails.

edges definetly pull out, i had blue twinboards and i ripped it out then sent em back they sent me candides and its gonna happen again soon, they r already cracked...only a matter of time... dont get em wrong this is a sick ski

watch yourself going switch tho cuz they r known to catch edges a bit

take the stupid grip tape off, all its gonna do its scratch up your base if you cross your skis, i can grab just fine with no grip tape. best ski video - the game

I have the candides in 180 as of now for a jib ski and they edges are destroyed on my left ski from grinding. But they are a great ski for everythin I cant really carve on them at all but I can make it down the hill really well at really fast speeds in icy conditions you just have to be careful. The edge holds up fine cuz theres nothing a lil epoxy cant fix and a vice grip haha.
