Candides New Pro Model

Has anybody noticed that Candide has his own ski with Salomon? It was in a picture in the new AXIS magazine from France I think. Its like a silver 10 with Candide written in red on the tail. Is this his new pro model with Salomon or does he just get his name written on his ski because he can.

 
i would hope so...hes so much better than a lot of people that have pro mods

thats cool, maybe he is just trialing it. there are a few positions open for a promodel now coz jp and jf have left.

Candide may be a contender for a pro model but Salomon owes it to Vinnie to give him a pro model. Dorion is sick and he's been there much longer than Candide...

He almost gotta gold in the us open last year, if he wouldna fallen, and yeah, they should also get a douglas model, candide is really good. But i am really confused. The guys pro-models are usually the ones best fitting me, and i get skis that are around my height, and they are stiff enough as some1 heavy as me. So why does this guy weigh 60 pounds less, and is 6-7 inches shorter(my source was www.expn.com, say its a lie

We all know he had a pro model but I mean you don't just give a guy like Vinnie a pro model for 1 year than take it away! Vinnie did so much for salomon and the sport!! He deserves it!

well thats what they did isnt it...whos going to sell more skis: a guy like candide who all the little kiddies see winning the X-Games and US Open, which to them is what 'newschool skiing' is or from a guy who has sick video parts that they have never seen and probaly wont until the guy selling them some twins throws in a movie to seal the deal and they go home and watch it repeatedly until they get to go skiing for their one week a year in colorado or whistler or wherever it may be.

see where salomon would be coming from. its a business, just ask phil poirier. that guy deserved a pro model too i thought and his segment in happy days, though not the best, was still better than jf's and vinnie's and did you see junpei in there at all...didnt think so. talented japanese skiier who is huge over there got his own ski to sale to all the little short japanese kids that see him winning stuff there, theres people a lot better then him that deserve a pro model more than he does but hey they're not 4'11 and ride 161's either.

 
dude, junpei was the designer of the 1080's, it reall inst a pro model.

That's rediculous if he already has a pro model. The other skiers should have their own models which they designed first.

 
this skis isn't a promodel, that s just a ski he use to have at his beginning with salomon, a dorion promodel with candide thovex written on the tail

i see him yesterday he was skiing with this year 1080

 
no dude in axis that is not the old dorion model thats brand new, yeah hes suppose to have something next year. 3 phils are to have a dynastar pro, EP has a pro this year. And I think that salomon will most likely give some of the others there own pro. Maybe CR, hes real good.

don't you guys get it? all you are talkin about is pro model this, pro model that with the wrong company, salomon is a freakin corporate company, its not like them to make a pro model, does rossi make tanner a pro model? does head make johnny a promodel? No, because they're freakin corporate companies that dont have time or don't even remember whose skiing for them to put they're name on the model

ya but Tanner and the team basicly designed the Scratch, and last time i checked Moseley designed the Mad Trix (his friggn' logo is on it)

Pro Models or not, what matters is that there team designed. Not designed by some 70's mogul hero or retro 80's racer.

dude the pocket rockets this year have jp auclairs name on em and 2 sizes in da 1080s have vinnie and jf s names on em

the 1080 he's on is the same thing as the cusson model. the only difference is it's the 'candide model' because that ski was only available in europe. you couldn't even order it from salomon, believe me i tried, that's a tight ski. but yeah it's just last years cusson model with different graphics.

 
tanner didn't desing much of the scratch the vast majority of the devellopement was done by other riders of that rode for rossi. Julien Renier-Laforgue was one of them.

I would hope he is not gettign a pro model. A company giving one athlete a pro model is stupid as long as their line of twin tips is so limited to one or two types of skis. If a pro model is made it should be exactly that.. a model for the pros,, harder to get for the general public and beefed up from the skis that are on the wall.

Having one athletes name on your ski is risky.. look a dynastar now stuck selling left over candide pro models. And what if the athlete that has the pro model doesnt produce in comps that year. His pro model sales go down. Pro models as a concept are just a bad idea

 
I am pretty sure that is his pro model, heres why...

1.)Theres no other ski like that.

2.)The Dorions are close, but Candide is too tall

3.)and the Dorions are 2 years old why would Candide, who kicks ass, want them.

4.)On the back tip it kind of looks like it says Candide...or something like it... look close.

 
i see him friday on the glacier and he was pulling flare 180 tail and misty 7 tail in the pipe on this year orange 1080

 
candide def deserves a pro model - he lagged behind the others for a while but hes back at the top now if not the best pro

the huge cork 5 is proof

 
Candide should be on armada, with all the really good guys
