Candides 2 year movie movie project will it be skiings Art of flight??

I couldn't give a fuck about what cameras they use. I'll get to see what Candide has been doing for the past two years and that is about as exciting as it gets when it comes to ski movies.
 
i hope not, the level of idiocy in that movie is incomprehensible. candide is the man, his movie will be the best thing we have seen since teddybear crisis. travis rice isn't even in the same class of all around domination.
 
no he's not, he just has less common sense. as far as line selection, he's not even close to some of the stuff skiers are doing (or jeremy jones).
 
They rented it I'm pretty sure. I looked it up when the movie came out it costs like thousands upon thousands of dollars per day to rent.
 
Yah as a production company it'd made a lot more sense to buy it than to rent a shit ton of camera gear every year to make a movie + anything else they do not related to snowsports
 
just getting the trailer done, here in la clusaz (yes at 4:07am) and the footage that i have seen is gonna blow minds... candide and the rest of us have been working our asses off because we dont have near the same budget (brain farm spent more on a song than what we have total), nor the dozen people working on this project... but what we have is soul and what candide is shredding will show you the size of his nutsack... every skier will be proud, that is what we care about! not how big eheaths production value is (get over yourself, what the fuck do you know about helis and the big mountain game? brain farm is 20mins riding, the rest heli on heli, cine on cine porn, with a whole lot of brodowns... wonder what their film would look like with our budget?) and no, my name is not in orange, it's skye... for those that are stoked, the trailer will drop in a couple of weeks, and the title has to do with one of candide's most enduring traits... ;)
 
BOOM eheath haha ! And very true about Brain Farm's helis filming helis bullshit. Stoked to see whatever comes out of that project. It will be interesting to see what Candide came up with to blow our minds. Last time, after 1-2 years injury and a ninja mission to film, he blew everyone's mind with Candide Kamera.

for real though, i didn't like art of flight that much. it contained so many of the same old ski/snowboard movie cliche phrases like "blah blah we're in alaska and it's gnarly and you need to respect it and stuff and the weather's lousy so we're going to blow stuff up in the meantime" -- cut to scene of heli starting up.

plus it was really long and not enough time was spent actually showing snowboarding...
 
obviously the production value was ridiculous, but in a way that made it all the more frustrating because i'd rather just see a little more originality than a shot of two helis shot from another heli.

but seriously, how good a project is going to turn out is only 50% dictated by what means they have, other 50% is pure creativity imho ...

Art of flight was definitely mindblowing, but besides the mindblowing footage and epic riding it wasn't very original ... (not saying it's a bad movie, but if you'd give brainfarms equipment/budget to another big production company, i'm sure they'd be able to produce something similar or maybe even better)

just look at what sherpascinema - all i can has done with a (correct me if i'm wrong) fraction of brainfarm's budget ...

 
but on a sidenote, has anyone heard some recent updates of the project ? or someone who has seen them filming anywhere ?

I personally like TITA more than any other shred movie ever. I just happen to be more invested in skiing. I like the production value and HD pron.
 
Candide's movie is gonna have so much more soul(if that makes sense) even if they dont have Brain Farms resources. Have you seen the Candide Kameras? They cinematography is on point in those.
 
I completely agree. I really don't think AOF is the pinnacle of snow sports movies as amazing as it was. I'm just saying this comparison is silly because of how much money was behind the AOF. I'm sure Candide's film will be incredible.
 
I liked Art of Flight. But the mentality of a movie (and its riders) is way different then I would perceive from Candide and his cohorts. Pretty much the soul aspect that others have mentioned.

In Art of Flight, you get a shitton of heli shots, and some rather reckless and somewhat pointless shit - making a big fuss about doing 1 line in Patagonia, riding when avy danger is extreme and very apparent, etc. I doubt any of that kind of shit would be seen (or even filmed) by Candide folks. Then again, this is just my perception, but it seems like this is a mutual feeling with most people on NS.
 
why compare that shit.. candides going to do something rad. trice also did something rad. they are different sports and the films will probably take very different approaches. I doubt anyone is dumping as much money into candides project as there was in trices so there will be big production value differences.
 
Has anyone hear if any other skiers are in it besides Candide. I mean don't get me wrong i could watch him all day but I would be sweet if there were other skiers in the movie as well.

On another note, even though the production value isn't as high as Art of Fly, I think this movie will be just as good if not better because instead of just being a bunch of cinema porn and EXTREME!! shit and more about the soul of skiing. That being said, I do wish they could have filmed with the cineflex.

FEW WORDS is much more than just a ski movie... matt, andreas, simon, myself, and especially candide have put much much more than just time into this, it is coming from our hearts... thats the difference!
