I think you are misreading what Candide is stating about the park. He wants to be able and healthy enough to ski park without pain. Since his back injury park has been too hard on him. On that note, yes it would be sick as hell to see Candide kill park!

In an interview earlier this year he stated he wanted to try and do X Games again and compete. His latest statement is a regression probably due to skiing park this summer. If he wanted to break back into the park scene I would assume a training regiment like Tanner's would be required.

Candide has more ski talent than any other skier on earth... if he wants to do triples he will.. if he wants to win X-Games Pipe AGAIN he will.. if he wants to win the world free ride tour AGAIN he will..Few words will make people realize that Candide Thovex is the best skier on planet earth, better than Sean P, better than Tom Wallish, better than Tanner, better than Dane.. Candide is by far the best skier of all time go back through the videos and watch his part in " French Toast" there's tricks in their that are on the same level if not higher than today's movies. from that gap to lip slide 450 out on the Balcony railing to massive step up in La Cluza, to the fucking lines he skis in Candide Kamera , ( And I'm sure" Few words" will be amazing!!)

The question is though whether he wants to do it or not.. Candide has nothing to prove , he has done every single thing in Freeskiing.. and he should be remembered as the most talented person to ever click into a pair of bindings in my humble opinion. I would love to see Candide come back and ski park.. but to be honest id much rather see him ski massive pillow lines and do tricks of cliffs than slide boring rails.

I second this post and verify it. I was at the world prem in Paris and I agree 100%. You took the words out of my mouth really. I have seen Sunny, 86, WE- Poorboyz, the Dream Factory and Superheros of Stoke and I can honestly say no one is where Candide is in big mtn skiing. Modesty goes a long for athletes but it gets to the point where the world needs to recognize incredible talent. Outside of newschoolers, many people who ski have no idea who Candide is (yes I know its hard to believe). It is def a question is IF he will or not, and according to the his movie, it sounds like his back still needs time to heal itself for park skiing. He had A LOT of trouble skiing his first year back after the big injury. Doctors told basically said you won't be able to ski the way you did and wow could they be more wrong. This is the only movie I will buy two copies possibly even three of : one for myself to watch whenever I want, one for friends to borrow and learn about Candide and ANOTHER possibly for friends to also borrow, spread the world, build the hype because he fucking deserves it. If he was American, everyone would love him. But because hes French, its totally different to other people.

I was never questioning Candide's talent... He is probably my favorite skier of all time. You need to face the fact that he is turning 30 and has suffered serious injury.

Pretty stoked Candide is still around.

On a seperate note, still great to see Charles Gagnier around, doing comps and throwin stuff no one else is.

Although i completely agree with you that candide is the best skier on earth, i was a bit disappointed by Few Words as it didn't show as many unseen shots as you would expect from a 2 year movie project. It was mostly old shots depicting the development of his career.

he's turning 30, not 50. his injury is a serious setback, but if he gets into a serious training routine its more than possible for him to get back to normal. if you're young enough, which candide easily is, you can overcome injuries like this, especially in a sport like skiing that arent typically as hard on your body as other sports. and whats so exciting about skiers like candide and tanner, is that so long as you can overcome or keep injury free into your early 30's, that is typically the best years of your life to be a professional athlete. its when you are still at your peak physically, but have a HUGE mental and experience advantage.

candide and tanner for jamacia ski team, mon !Im sure tanner could but a grip of jamacian acres and say rastabombaclot candide be my roomate mon, then pay off the judges to take into account OG status when scoring pipe runs

I was in Paris for the world premiere. I realized how much France respects their favorite skier. Amongst many of my friends here in Colorado, people have no clue. I see you live in France. I agree with you and would hope that everyone know Candide there.

We've seen pollard in the pow and there he is coming back to the park. Now imagine Candide coming back into the park. These guys need to come in and show us all how it's done.

Neither of these two will ever waste their time throwing double flips, forget about triples. I agree that watching them in the park would be way more entertaining than what we have now - but, it's not "progressive" enough.

as beautiful as candide is in the park i find his big mountain game to be more fun to watch/ he hops around on pillows like no one else can

I would love to see a slopestyle comp with T-Rains, Candide, Pollard, Benchetler, Delorme or whoever else in it.

I see what you did there.

Joke in poor taste?

Either way, Candide is unreal. I think he could have a shot at gearing up for the olympics, but it would be equally cool to see him and tanner take on coaching roles if they don't make the cut.
