Candide Thovex Signs with CoreUPT!

Candide Thovex joins CoreUPT !

Fans were wondering, and lots of theories appeared about Candide’s new skis, here is the statement: Candide Thovex joins CoreUPT.

Enthusiastic for the values and projects of the new online ski brand, he wants to put his experience and skills to help CoreUPT and his new team mates.

After a season off, Candide wants to ski stronger than ever. After breaking his backbone, he spend a year waiting for recovery. He wants to ski, big.

From this year, CoreUPT launch 2 Promodels designed by Candide and our team: the Candide Yard (Park) and the Candide Pow (Backcountry). Those skis will only be available on www.coreupt.com.

A private space on www.coreupt.com/candide will allow Candide to post exclusive infos, and his fresh photos and vidéos… A place for self expression, aimed to his fans.

CoreUPT wants to be the organization that will help Candide to get back to the top, in comps and deep in the powder.

CoreUPT.com will also be a meeting place for team’s fans, club members of CoreUPT clan.

ahha you guys are making me laugh.

but those skis are pretty classy. i don't know much about CoreUPT but i'll be interested to see what Candide can do for them and vice versa.
 
hes always been my favorite skier thank god he's getting back on skis, this year was just not the same without his uber french shredding.

I made a thread about this a while ago... I really wanted to know who his new skis were made buy. Thank god the graphics turned out better than that goofy looking lion he had at the invitational. To tell you the truth though I am not soo stoekd on the brown graphics. Just my opinion, but I'm sure they'll be more soon. CoreUPT def looks sick. Great to see a new company out in the market. Bless
 


They really need to redesign their site. My screen has received nothing but verbal abuse for the last 5 minutes while I attempted to navigate the site.

 
Looks legit.

The company is apparently based in Tignes, France and their skis are made at the Dynastar factory near Chamonix.

I've been seeing their Mini Clubmans kicking around the area for the past few months but didn't realize it was a new ski company since the "Unlimited Pleasure Toys" slogan plastered on their cars sounded like a dildo company or something...

The skipass.com article mentioned they are speaking to Dumont as well and that their philosophy is having only pro models and giving the riders a big % of sales as incentive.

Will be interesting to see how it shakes out.

 
candide yard is such a dope name for a ski too, like the rasta he is its cool how considers the the terrrain park "yard"
 
So sick of him to help out a new company and hop on board. He is def one of, if not the sickest skier out there. I don't know any other skier that goes as big as him.
 
candide's the man and skis look legit, nice to see him on a company that truly respects him and markets him for how great he really is and its also what? the 6th ski company he's been with , respect

it said in the press release that he wants to get work his way back to the top of not only the BC but competitions as well. i hope he tries x-games again.
 
Pretty sure that's not the case, since it was a three year contract... And to whoever was wondering if rossi dropped him or if CoreUPT stole him away, Candide left Rossi for CoreUPT!

Dude, you seem to be talking crap. The reason that Candide always gets a pro model, is not that hes desperate for pro models to further his ego, its because hes one of the biggest names in the history of our sport and massively marketable. Companies are desperate to get him to endorse a pro model so all the fan boys can pick them up!

I have no idea how I didn't hear about this, in Tignes no less... I'm super excited to see how it turns out- just flicked throught the article on skipass- did it say Guerlain Chicherit is involved also? Fuck, Chicherit, Candide, Kenworthy- they've got the whole spectrum there. Surely coreUPT must have had a backer with serious funds to launch like this?

Whatever, i'm pumped to see what happens!!
 
Nobody knows that Simon Dumont have been contacted by Coreupt to be in this fucking huge team ? yet they don't find a way to deal with Dumont, Salomon and them ... but maybe later ;)

Another point, each guy will received an Mini Clubman with the brand's color (like redbull) !

I saw the prototype at the dynastar factory and for sure the skis will be really really sick !
 
yea lke Quicksilver backing the whole deal, Quick put Rossi for sale almost 2 years ago because sales sucked, so how do you reach a new market and genre, rename your skis, candides contract stays the same just different name of skis
 
That's not right at all, Candide dropped Rossi for CoreUPT, it has nothing to do with Quicksilver either... CoreUPT skis are made on Dynastar presses, but they are their own company they aren't owned by anyone!

Quick owns Dyna and Rossi, everyone knows Rossi could not aford Candide and he really was always paid by quick, so him dropping Rossi is like Tiger woods Nike clubs for Tiger Woods clubes made 'in the same factory'
ask you team manager who does own it,
 
Quicksilver is pretty much Candide biggest sponsor, they bought Rossignol a couple years ago did it affect candide decision to move from salomon to rossi?? maybe.

Rossignol sales are going down and quicksilver, who is their owner are trying to sell the brand. While trying to keep the brand alive and in decent shape in order to sell it the guyz at rossignol probably have other things on their mind then dealing and paying one of the msot well paid athlete in the game right now.

That would lead to Candide decision to moving to somethign new where he can get some more influence in the company and on the skis.

Once again, that may be all wrong but that makes way more sense then saying rossignol have the budget to resign candide while their sales are going down and currently being sold.
