candide thovex will go down as the greatest skier of all time. WILL , hes not even close to done. He has more widespread abilities than any other pro skier.

As two people who live closer to kirkwood than most people on this site I would expect YOU of all people to give the FWT a little more of a fuckin nod than fairly legit.

what does kwood have to do with the Freeride World Tour? Squaw is the one that hosted some stops for it.

Though, i do think that tanners domination of the xgames is as laudable as candide winning the fwt.

Candide and Tanner are the two best, tanner being better at the freestyle aspect, and candide at the freeride aspect.
 
if all-around ski ability were the criteria for best skier of all time, candide takes the cake in my book. if he spoke more english and put more effort into getting into the limelight, i'm sure more people would agree with me. but it seems to me that he just loves to ski and isnt trying to win popularity contests, which makes me hug his nuts just a little bit tighter
 
Best allround skier? Candide without a doubt. Big air, slopestyle, pipe, he does it all he is also a three time gold medalist In the France championships of Mogul Skiing before he started with freesking.And he has been in the freeski world for so long.

But his style is what sets him apart, so fluid he is like a cat. He skis with so much ease it looks effortless, so solid and his technique is excellent.

 
I've always been a Candide fan. First pro I ever enjoyed watching ski when I first learned about freeskiing. I will always respect t-hall for how much he progressed the sport, but Candide will always be #1 in my mind.
 
Sorry for the double post, but Candide is the man who got me into freeskiing.As a kid i did racing, never really liked it, used to go pow as much as i could.

Then i saw Candide's segment in The Game. Changed my life forever.

Ten years ago, he went bigger in park then skiers these days do, not even mentioning his bc skills...
 
Except for the fucking xgames in every discipline. Go fuck yourself. Even if it's sarcastic it isn't funny. You don't make jokes about Candides awesomeness. YOU DON'T!!!
 
people should be reminded that candide kamera was not on rockered skis. and that he is on his second year filming for a two year full movie. oh and that europe is getting hammered with snow.

i'm expecting big things from candide when the trailers start coming
 
X games pipe/slopestyle gold , FWT champion, linecatcher gold, and all of his video segments (especially Kamera 1+2). Candide is definitely number 1 in my opinion.
 
From which he came back to win Linecatcher and fucking FWT... Candide is BY FAR the all time best in my book.

I cannot wait for his 2 years project.. This thing will blow so many minds.

I dont think a lot of the folks on NS understand how much of a huge deal it is to win the FWT or Line Catcher. Its not something you can learn on the tramp, there's no clear learning progression, it's just sheer fucking raw talent and balls. And Candide has got that talent in spades.

Candide has the dirtiest switch cork 5 double tail of any skier around. Best trick hands down.
 
This. Winning the FWT is insane, top level skill and talent to have consistently high finishes on that tour.
 
Candide is the cat. i have seen the kamera edits 20 times and its stil amazing. That being said, there is in my book 3-4 guys out there that are so all round skilled that it takes my breath away.Candide: X gold in pipe, slope and big air, French junior champion in moguls, Freeride WT champ.

Jon : 11 X medals in all disciplines, big mountain titles and close to the top in GS (last year i think he ended up ranked 60 in the world GS)

Windsted: Junior world champion in moguls, freeride world tour champ, x-games and us open finals in slope and big air.

But yeah, the more I think about it, Candide just slays anything. Bumps, park, pipe, big mtn, urban, the guy just has no idea how to suck- or even just be ok at something for that matter. If I had a wife and she left me for Candide, I'd track her down to high five her every week.
 
I don't see no reason to say he isn't. There was a moment when I got bored of watching the Rastafaride movies and the pretty common poletap-tailgrab combos over and over again, but then he revamped his style a bit in... 2007 maybe? The year he did a sw cork 630 mute disaster to a rail.
 
Candide has crushed each discipline he has shown up the party for and has been a huge groundbreaker for the park scene through the early 2000s.

-Crushing moguls at 14

-He stomped a D-Spin 7 over Chad's back in 2000. This was the first big trick thrown over a gap at the time.

-First place finishes in major slope and pipe comps.

-Ground-breaking pipe run

-Consistent top big mountain competition results

Moving into the big mountain world and crushing competitions there is just another chapter in his legacy. The man is a legend and among the select few that are truly deserving of the title as one of the best skiers of all time.
 
I remember seeing him do tail to tail 5s at one of his crazy rail jams. The second trick in this vid is a sw 7 tail to tail
