Candide Thovex is the best skier of all time.

and yeah candide is one of the few who have been absolutely killing it for more than 10 years now.. what a beast
 
yeah its impressive that he can be so good for such a long time period even though the sport is changing so rapidly
 
Anyone who says Candide isn't the best skier of all time didn't grow up when skiing was in it's prime. Everything he did just got everyone so stoked to ski. Everytime you got a new video candide's part was the first you flipped to and one you watched on repeat. His tricks were so ahead of his time, and nevermind his style.

I pity anyone who says a bad word about candide, for you truly don't understand skiing
 
He is definitely one of them.

I don't know if I think he is the best skier of all-time, but he is up there. One of the greatest all-around skiers ever, not many people have his contest record.

The fact that he won the FWT impresses me more than anything else he has done. I have heard some folks say that he was overscored, and they might be right, but his performance was still insane.

The contest that most impressed me was not one of his wins, but his run in Verbier on the Bec De Ross. He went down the center area, the craziest part of the venue, and ripped it. I'm too lazy to post a link, but you can find the video on the Freeride World Tour website.

I can't wait for his movie.
 
candide is quite the skier.. but best of all time? i would have to give that title to mr. Tanner Hall

Everyone has their opinions though..

There's not many skiers that won x-games gold in not only big air and slopestyle, but in superpipe. The remarkable part is that he didn't stop at park skiing, he took his skills on huge lines..

Definitely one of my favourite skiers.
 
yeah you're right, winning a "freestyle" comp before the dub flip era, was not legit at all

anyway what's most impressive avout candide is not his comp results

ie: first to hit chads gap at like 16, massive hip at mammoth, candide invitational, massive quarterpipe airs, massive hits all around

candide's been there since the beginning of the sport and is still killing it, which does not apply to that many people
 
The two Candide Kameras are so sick I can't wait to see the final product of his two year film project!
 
Stoked on Candide, but I'd say Jon Olsson is better. X Games Big Air & Superpipe Golds, US Open Slopestyle Gold, Olympic Ski Racer and former Big Mountain champion (Swedish or Scandinavian champ if I remember right).
 
he truly is the all around sickest fucking dude there has ever been since freeskiing started. his balls are the size of hay bales and he has talent through the roof
 
except tanner is trying to dominate the pipe game after a 3yr absence and potentially career ending injury. dont get me wrong i love candide... but i dont think anyone else is capable of what tanner is currently trying to do.
 
you do know quiksilver committed the $$$ and project will wrap after next season right? follow candide on twitter and you can get a feel for where they've been filming
 
Gotta say no ones "the best" but I'd definitely put Candide as one of the best all time freeskiers next to pollard tanner and olsson that's fo sho... maybe a head above tho just cause he's pushed the sport and not been braggin about anything ever.the most humble.
 
I don't think Tanner is capable of what Tanner is trying to do...

So Candide is still better. Though in a few years, maybe Tanner will be ripping backcountry enough to compete and win the FWT which would land him up there with Candide. But for now, it's Candide.

Also, Jon isn't better either IMO. Candide is the best freeride skier/freeskier of all time. Jon might be the best all around because he's into all that racing, which isn't freeride/freestyle.

anyone who have actually seen candide on skis will agree that watching him ski is the absolute illest shit.

he s like a cat, he is so easy. it s unreal. you have to see it in person.

i remember watching him slay rails in les 2 alpes a few summers ago. he s so gnarly it s really fun to watch him. not to mention he is really nice.
 
He may be the best comp skier of all time, and not many guys have gone from winning comps in every freestyle discipline, to winning fwt stops on huge faces in gnarly snow conditions, but I still have shane as the best skier of all time
