He hit the deck, he didn't have enough speed

Apparently he hurt his back, it's not looking good ... :(

P.S. : The Big Bertha is the huge hump(150 feet with some kind of sheep head on the deck) at the Candide Invitational that no one cleared.

damn he never injures himself, i rememeber seeing him bailing on chad's gap three times, twice into the wall and then doing a d-spin 7 the next day over it

shit they had that picture up for a while so i assumed he was fine. I didn't realize that this happened today.

Holy shit... so nobody cleared it? I can imagine that if Candide came up short, that's probably something of a deterrent to everyone else.

The skier in this photo, didn't really pop going off the jump,

the physics involved look all wrong.

That jump is Gnar Gnar...

well ask yourself this: do ninja's get hurt?

i think you know the answer

but seriously i hope this doesnt make him mellow out like tanner

******* UPDATE *********

Apparently he injured his hip, was taken down the slope on sled

and the way he crashed is like this: He hit the deck than "bounced" to the very end of the landing.

X games like two years ago...he has some recurring knee problems if i remember correctly.

I don't ever remember jon getting hurt though

although i guess thats not him, whoever it is he is soooo high that has to hurt unbelievably badly falling 60 feet to flat...and i hope candide didnt fuck up his hip too bad.....

I don't understand what is so dangerous about the big bertha. Its just a rediculously huge jump. There is nothing abnormally dangerous about it. It has an enormous landing that leaves lots of room for an over shot. All the skiers that hit it didn't clear the knowl, the cause of all the injuries. Im sure it will be kept up and people with hit when the conditions allow a safer environmentn.(which is why the jump was originally closed)

It's not only huge in lenght, but it's a huge step down, which makes the drop from the top of the curve to the knuckle much larger. And if you come up short, you're basically screwed.

A safer jump would be like the one at JOI last year, which was a step up. If you hit the deck, it's not that dangerous, and you can still go pretty far.

jump at joi last yr was prob half the lenght u need a huge step down to really far like in booters ball they had like no step up so they were having to get towed in super fast just to clear

Jacob's kangaroo beat him, but he still got third.

Has anyone landed "Big Bertha" yet? How many tries?
