Candide on Rossi???

So, I just had an email from my mate Pat (who is a Salomon Pro) who has just been to Mondial Du Ski at 2 Alpes in France.

This is like the first big 'industry' thing of the season, with most of the major players - team mangers, MDs, athletes, developers, Journos etc - attending.

And, apparently Candide has signed for Rossi! Don't know if this is immediate, or for the next season or what, but that was the big news people were talking about!

Anyone else hear this? Anyone know anything more? Or is it just rumour?

^maybe, maybe, ... but i'm scared it's not the reason ...

Moreover, salomon is from annecy, dynastar from sallanches, so it's pretty close from la clusaz and it means something to ski for those companies. Ross is from grenoble: too far, not even in the same department ... means nothing!

our sport is so small that you can't even say that people move around that much...plus you forgot skateboarding and snowboarding, where people move around.

 
i don't know why candide.....: best pro-model, more money,... but if this was because he earn more, i think that it's good because we aren't nobody to say what he must do. He is a big pro, he play with his life every days and everybody would want to live of skiing.

I think he'll stay salomon at least until 05/06 and ride out his contract and promodel. Just like any other sport when you become broke renegotiate your contract, when saolomon doesn't want to renegotiate for more money, he'll simply go somewhere else. Already happened to dynastar because dynastar didn't think he would leave b/c they gave him a promodel and were local (chamonix, la clusaz) and bam he goes for salomon who had only made skis for 10 years or less at the time, someone at dynastar caught a beat down for not renogiating and being cocky. Salomon is obviously cocky if karlstrom and vinny left for 4frnt. OBVIOUSLY

Salomon should praise burke instead of making it hard on her. They should have listened when JP and JF were trying to make them a good company.

Maybe he's signing with rossi cuz rossi is sick. I know my opinion is a bit biast, take a look at my icon, but i dont think it's a selling out thing. I hate saying sell out, what's wrong with trying to make money, some one sign me up to sell out.

yeah, salomon wanted to pay her to ride skis. but they made her wear salomon outerwear without paying her, and she said fuck that. thank god Candide is leaving salomon, i was soooo sad when i heard he was on salomon, but rossi is a sick company. and you know what candide on rossi means? it means rossi may be trying to build back up a a top of the line free ride team, with new skis and all. they got philou, Sage, kristi, Hendric, and now candide. the scratch is gonna be gone, and there will be a bad ass new line of rossi skis, and candide will be making more money. fuck yeah!

no doubt. i bet candide HATES riding pussy ass foam skis. for someone that goes as humungus as him, he must go through soooo many pairs. he prolly begged for a wood ski, and they wouldnt do it. the only wood ski salomon has made recently were the concepts at thr 2003 x games.

The skius that they make for Candide are race room skis with a wood core and harder race babses. They aren't the pussy shit that salomon make availible to everyone, that said I'd go to Rossi to though, but I doubt he'll be leaving Salomon this year. Plus it doesn't matter how many pair of skis he breaks, they will just keep giving him new ones.

who cares if they are 'race room'. thats good that they actually put them on wood skis. and oh yeah, that last post was kinda a joke. but props to candide if hes truely on rossis. he is by far the most reconizable skier (internationally) in skiing. tanner is more popular in the us, but candide is a great worldwide marketing pawn.

what ever he does i will be behind him, i think he is on the worst company for skiing overall, yes i have a pair of 1080's but thats beside the fact, he should be on a company that makes quality skis, rosi is one of those companys.

either way he will always rip, pro model or no pro model.

where are these facts coming from Henry...freeskier put out an article two-three years ago telling of Candides move and the said 'rumors say that he is making 6 figures' with a big empasis on the 'rumors' part. I have never seen anywhere validating this fact.

 
Good for him if Candide signed with Rossi. Rossi needs Candide given the fact that the Rossi has noone to develop twinnies since everyone left for Armada. The Scratch has never been redeveloped in three seasons that it has now been out for (that's including this season).

Some of my friends just returned from the Mondial, where they partied with Rossi athletes Hugo, Dan Treadway, Rory Bushfield, and Candide. It's true, and pretty cool that Rossi is willing to invest with the best team in our sport. The team video should be sick next year.

 
i think all of you are fuckheads for saying you would walmart skis if they paid you. now i know you were being somewhat sarcastic but the thought is what counts. i would not wear a pair of skis that really hindered my skiing experience for any amount of money. if they said they would give me a million dollars but i had to ride them for life i wouldnt. what the hell is the point of having money is you cant do something you love? that being said, none of the ski companies make a product that truly hinder your skiing, but even though we need money to live, people still turn down products if they do not liek the product.

 
First off, hugo on Prior is just a rumor, as of last week when I spoke with him he was still on Rossignol.

Candide I have heard nothing about, but I will look into this.

Finaly, the scratch changes big for next year, you just wait...

oh, and salomon doesnt have the ability to build a complete wood core ski. Candides skis are a wood/foam mix.
