Candide off Faction...What's next?

As the article says, Candide & Faction parted ways after 10 years. Will he start his own ski brand to go along with his outerwear venture or do you think he'll go to an established brand?

Plus one of my favorite random clips of Candide videos from his Faction years.

Funny asf to see All the people on insta freaking out rn but [tag=145266]@.nasty[/tag] spilled it well over a month ago now and said he’d be starting his own brand.

Lmao Season would have to make a ski that isn't a complete fuckin noodle for that to happen

Have you skied any of them? Just got a Nexus and hand flexing it it does not feel nearly as soft as everyone is claiming

Him starting his own brand is purely speculation on my part, but you have to think that’s the most logical thing considering his outerwear is doing quite well with his name on it.

Lmfao no he’s not, he’s starting his own company this has already been confirmed

You come here claiming it has been confirmed, yet you dont post anything to back your claim.

Dynastar CT-FREE confirmed.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Black Crows or Movement.

Look at Candide's history, he was THE marquee athlete at every brand he's been with since Dynastar. I doubt you see him go with any brand that already has an established stable of talent because you know he's going be demanding big dollars. Those big dollars will need to be able to provide a measurable return on investment and I don't think a large, established brand will get what they need out of it.

Just my two cents.

You're prob not old enough to remember, but he's already done both of those.

Well aware of his history and they are 2 of the 3 brands who can actually afford to pay him.

Both have deep history in France - wouldn't be surprised.

It's not about who can afford to pay... it's who's willing to pay. Faction couldn't afford him 10 years ago but they did and the investment paid off. CoRupt couldn't afford to pay him before that but they did and it worked until they went bankrupt. It won't be a big brand, that I can guarantee.

Lol what so where’s your backup, other than that he had a dynastar ski 20 years ago? The organization that will be responsible for importing his skis to the United States has already said that they’ll be importing them, alongside the fact that they already do his clothing line

Your reasoning is sound. I just have a hard time imagining a small brand committing to that level of investment in today's financial landscape. It will be big news whenever it leaks

'Member when salomon made Candide his own LAB pro model...only to have him go to rossi. I remember a Freeze mag that had an ad for his Salomon pro model, and on the next page was a Rossi "Welcome to the team, Candide!" ad.

this would be the hypest possible switch

Season would explode in popularity. He'd do to Season what he did to Faction.

I'd be surprised if Season was ready for him financially. The brand has been around for only 2 years and the skis align far more closely with Pollard's style (no shit) vs Candide's. I'm not sure that it's the partnership that either party needs right now

Skied the Nexus and the Forma, much to soft for my liking. Just got the new Kin in the shop and it also feels really soft, haven't had the chance to take them out on the mountain yet though

I’m very intrigued now, the hand flex doesn’t indicate super soft skis but I believe you!

Maybe he adds his own ski to the lineup, just a thought

stepping away from skiing could be likely, taking a more corporate role in a big bucks company like chris benchetler has recently done

Try the Aero. They rip hard. Haven’t skied any of the others, but I wanted a firm day ski and I couldn’t have picked a better one for me.

I think he would fit well on Season. I wouldn’t be disappointed if he went back to Dynastar.

outrage will ensue no matter what

i bet he left faction because of the money, i am guessing he got a percentage of sales from the ct skis and but they have grown less popular and have not been marketed as much anymore with so many other athletes and a more park focus.

Own brand probably to transition into semi-retirement of no longer having pressure to ski for contracts and to just do his own thing for once.

Sounds like that really worked out well...

it did... they sold a ton of the Candide Yard series. Unfortunately they didn't sell much else...

Also hard to run a brand when the owner had more interest in driving rally cars than he did skiing...

watching that vid makes me wonder why anybody would want to take the lead when its your friend candide who is following lol

Update, I skied the nexus yesterday and was thoroughly impressed. Not stiff, but not super soft either. Tons and tons of pop, a lot more stable at speed than I anticipated and really good on edge.
