Candide gonna do one of those days 2

and he does it again.

I can't believe so much in that edit... but the speed he takes into those pillow gap transfer things in the forest are what most impressed me. I loved trolling the race course. and the ending was straight banging!

I keep making the case that maybe sammy and/or tanner are on his level but I'm not saying that anymore. he's untouchable and undeniably the best ever.

So damn sick. If Candide wanted to he could have entered shots for each month in the GoPro Line Of The winter Contest, won the $1000 for each month, and then won the $20000 grand prize to. I really do think everything in here was that good; it will be awhile until we get some POV shots better than this.

Those people look rather 2D. Still sick regardless.

That went so far and beyond my incredibly high expectations. It was some of the most out of this world skiing I have ever seen. So much more impressive than the the first.

Candide is too good at skiing. He needs to find a new sport, because it must be boring for him to be better than anyone else in any discipline he chooses.

Also, I would have payed a month's paycheck to be one of the people eating at the balcony restaurant.

I'll be honest the first part I was like meh, original was better, then holy fuck he turned it up to 11, scratch that he turned it up to fucking 15, that was absolutely insane

I'm not gonna lie, after all the hype was built up after delaying it for months I thought for sure that I'd be disappointed.

I am not disappointed.

360 over a racer...wtf?

360 over people and patrol

that tunnel

hitting the unloading platform with the attendant freaking out

that whole town scene with hitting last lift (although staged)

all that in less than 5 minutes...just epic

I've watched it over 10 times since and I still can't fucking believe it. Just when I thought ski tricks/creativity were at a peak, and that I had already seen the most mind-blowing shots ever, well no. Here is Candide, blowing our mind 5x more than he did back when he won pipe, fwt, dropped few words, and he was already on top. This guy is ABSOLUTELY UNTOUCHABLE.

He's like, above god status.

Putting on goggles with no GoPro in sight. Somone explain that please.

The planning that went into this is just incredible, clearly it took all season to straighten things out. Like the timing of a 360 over a GS racer and course. Building all the jumps so they look natural. Stomping every trick cleanly going mach10 down chunder snow. The tunnel shot then having enough speed to do a perfect flat 3. The jibs were huge. 35 foot high 360 nose taps, who else is doing those. NO One. Oh and the last shot. Grind sun deck to tranny over sundeck to another tranny to 180 onto cheese grader metal into a gondola.

WTF Candide, Legend

1) Nice work Faction!

2) Candide is a true pimp

3) Great editing

4) People what know LC will notice the locations that are cut together....i.e some of the end shots.

5) Nice work Faction ;)

Uhhh a lot of the jumps are natural

I'm almost speechless because that was JAW DROPPING GOOD!! I've never seen ANYTHING like that! My God, now I know what everyone is talking about when they say Candide is one of, if not the greatest freeskiers of our day! INSANELY GOOD!

a living legend that is still murdering shit, and blowing most "pro" skiers out of the fuckin water. Hats off to candide, he really is the best to ever do it.

The mirror is actually a green screen with a previous shot overlayed. the hand motions don't match up perfectly.

People don't realize that this isnt just raw GoPro footage. There is a fair amount of post-production that went into this.

That said, by god that man fucking charges.

WHY ISNT HE FILMING PROPER SEGMENTS WITH MSP/PBP ETC???

Would love to see this with the production values turned up

With what camera was this filmed on? Can't see any helmet cam in his shadow.

You read about Apple gaining a patent to helmet cam tech, right? Well here you go. The iDome. Your whole head becomes a recording device. That's why it looks so good.

I have friends on Facebook who have never skied before sharing the video. Bam Magera shared the video as well. Candide has put skiing into a new light in a way the Olympics never could.

This edit is really bringing the "LOL SO FAKE" internet dwellers out of the woodwork. People are stupid.

However, were the people on the chairlift and the eagle in that one shot added in?

That skiing was fucking insane though. What a boss.

Drooling over the grass skiing and tunnel footy

Next we will see an onslaught of faction skis on the lifts, yes yes the shilling begins oh my precious.

It's well on the way to 3 millon views (2,730,000 now). Are there any ski edits with more?

tom wallisch's dew tour breck gopro edit from 11 has about 4.5mil views

I saved watching until I could watch it on the big screen. So just saw it. I have no words. Seriously, I'm speechless after watching that. I didn't know whether he could top One of Those Days or not but he did. He blew my mind. Candide is the definition of freeskiing.

haha yeah i love when people think theyre clever for spotting FAKE stuff. "i bet he didnt even get arrested at the end of OOTD 1!"

yeah, i havent looked at it slowed down but i think the people on the lift are added in on that lift shack shot, and the eagle probably is too

needless to say that's just aesthetic stuff that doesnt take away from the skiing at all

I think the people are real. they react to him flying by. the eagle is questionable, but why add that shit? some day we will get confirmation.

anyone think the lift was stopped? the racing practice, lift shot and especially the last one seem staged

no hate of course

Another one of those videos -- much is staged but who cares?

More interestingly... I suspect Candide has been doing this type of run for at least 15+ years (without staging.) This is not new to him.

Is there an equivalent snowboarder that can hit natural terrain like this - as effortlessly and as big?

The video reminds me of C'était un rendez-vous - basically a Mercedes driving through Paris in 1976 at break-neck speed (with better engine noises overdubbed later.) More info here - I mean if OOTD is gaining cult status, perhaps the minor artificiality is all worth it. It might even inspire park bandits to get out and hammer meat a bit more.

just to be Captain Obvious for a second:

- it could've easily been patched together from a couple of days of skiing the same run using the best takes

- at the end there is a sunset, unlike beginning

- I'm sure he told race officials, lift attendants, restaurant people what he was doing and how to react.. I mean he'd know everyone at that mountain. It's his home mountain, where he'd be a hero.

- obviously many of the jumps were setup for the filming (or for fun) including over the barrier 3:16 and restaurant: 4:42, 4:48. You can also see tracks after the chairlift station.
