Event favorites Candide Thovex of Europe and Tanner Hall of the U.S. fell on both of their runs, opening the door for the remaining 10 riders.

Team Asia's Shoya Okazaki laid down one of the only error-free runs of the day, taking first place and 12 team points. His teammate, Motoki Shimomura finished fourth, earning 9 points. With a total of 21 points from this event, Team Asia is in fifth place with 115 total points.

Philippe Belanger finished second, earning 11 points for Team Canada and teammate Philippe Larose rounded out the top five, earning 8 points. Team Canada sits in fourth place with 123 team points.

C.R. Johnson of Team USA finished third, good for 10 team points and Hall settled with a disappointing sixth place and 7 points. With 17 team points from this event, Team USA is in first place in the overall competition with 175 points, clinching the team gold over Team Europe (146 points) and one event to go.

Thovex finished in 10th place, earning Team Europe 3 points.

fuck it, this is badass. It shows that the competitions are judged fairly. If you fall, you cant win. Im stoked to see belan and larose in top 5, and sick for that Asian dude to get a chance to represent. That was a sick run he had, and the ally opp flatspin at the end was mosterous!

It's good to see some variation on the podium. Tanner is sick for sure, and madd props to him for his success this year but there are a lot of kids able to take him down, and this shows that even some of the veterans (phils) can still throw down.

Somtimes I just like to sit back and allow all the ignorent people in this world easily ammuse me. Other times they just piss me off.
 
im down with this whole no name guy winning, im sick of all the pros taking it home when truly they dont have the best runs.

i predict in year 2010 there will be no snowboarders and all freeskiers , why because skiing kicks ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the judging was still bad though i thought. CR got third with a fall. It should have been Belan, Larose 1, 2.

Tanner was killing it in practise. if one of those runs had counted he would have most likely won. he just choked in the comp and that was why he was soo pissed. but no... that japanese dude KILLED IT. his flat 5 was like 22 feet out. it was rediculous. candide was doing great too, but he decked out on the first hit of both his runs.

The pipe was under vert on the right wall though, and that is where everyone was having problems. yep.
