I heard candide broke his back!! When he overshot big bertha.. dont know if there already is a thread about it... But doctors said they are really positive and he will be back probably this summer.
 
some how he makes the first video so steezy, i dunno if its just me but thats skill. the second one was hard to watch tho
 
you can see on the first vid he still took a fair bit of speed into that - cant believe he cased.
 
well from doing some very crude calculations I figured out he was going about 75km/h IN THE AIR, so way faster than that in the transition
 
ya that jump looked fucking awesome but it was built liek shit well hope candide gets better hes a tight skier
 
Finally a good angle vid. It really shows how fast they needed to go to clear it. Sucks for everyone, especially Candide
 
candide said in a interview that the best jumps in france are the worst jumps here so that one is just average there

that's the worst feeling in the world, when you leave the lip and know immediately that you're knuckling. course i've never had that feeling as long as he must have on that one, that was a large jump.
 
everyone tis thinking the same thing right as they leave the lip. its worse if ur spinning n u know it, cuz u dont spot it till the last second, evn tho u feel ur gna knuckle the whole time
 
so true. That feeling really sucks, and in candide's case, he had enough time to figure out what injury he'd have, then tell eveyone before he even fell.
 
it looked like he thought he was gonna clear it, he kept it tucked up and steezy till just before he knuckled, and he didn't miss it by that much
 
ever broke your back before? i have and as long as there is no nerve damage or alignment issues, a full recovery can be just 12 weeks away. i broke my back March 29, 2006 and was riding DH by July. as long as he just broke the bones in his back and he didn't suffer any nerve damage, he should be back after a short break.
 
that jump is just stupid... i dont remember the last time candide was injured... isn't this like a first? it sucks he got worked on something lame like that
 
hes got knee problems

i called this from the start, the jump is too big for it to be fun or cool. all it ever was, was an accident waiting to happen.
 
this is alot like when mike wilson undershot that retarted stepdown in yearbook but he was back skiing in 3 months!

candide will probably be back next year but he might mellow out for a bit
 
no i haven't actually. and yes, it does depend on how you broke it, where you broke it, and if anything else was damaged. i don't know the extent of the situation, but my friend fell off a roof and he was out for a year.
 
whats worse? the feeling that went thru candids head wen he sawthe knuckle, or simons overshoot on teddybear crisis? i say simons
