Candide 5.0 vs Volkl Revolt 121 vs Candide 4.0

Asking for some legitimate help here. 5'7 155lbs. Full throttle type skier (cringe) but for reference mostly big mountain freeride/freestyle with some hot laps through the park when it doesn't snow, and also compete in FWQ events.Retired my CT 2.0 2016 model and 4.0's 2017 model at the end of last season. Specifically asking for recommendations to replace my pow ski that can 100% charge but stays jibby. Leaning towards the new CT 5.0 at 183cm but also need help comparing to the new CT 4.0 at 182cm. Differences in rocker profile? Only other ski I'm considering right now is the Revolt 121 at 184cm which looks like it might actually be the best option out there but does anyone know anything about it besides all of the big marketing push Volkl made for it this summer? Appreciate the help fellas.

CT 5.0 is flat camber, where as the CT4.0 has some camber underfoot. Both have a Pachaco and Balsa wood core. This will be different than your 2017s. Those were Balsa w/ flax, I believe.

I think the 5.0 is a better high-speed ski, it feels stiffer and better made, but that's maybe because we're producing it a different factory than the 4.0. I use the 5.0 a lot in all conditions, and I love it :)

5'10", 165 on the 183, FWIW

I haven't skied any candies, I do have a pair of revolts tho and they might just be one of my favorite skis ever

^For some info on the Revolt 121.

The Revolt is a solid ski, fun for doing a bit of everything in the backcountry... it's a pretty solid ski but the CT 5.0 is much stiffer and chargier. I think it sounds like probably you'd be best off going for the latter, but I have skied both so check out the review and I'm down to try and answer any other questions you might have.

Really appreciate the insight here. I would pick the 5.0 based off of build quality alone then! I know there has been some complaints in the past 2 years in regard to the durability of the Candide line. I think it really comes down to the price of the 5.0 vs the Revolt 121.

Apologizes for not seeing your review earlier, thanks for that awesome review. Really good to hear that it can do a little bit of everything but really excel in soft snow of course. Nice to hear that someone on the shorter/lighter side can still shut the speed down when necessary but also keep it driving pretty hard. The rocker pics really help, I'm a huge fan of the generous tip rocker while still keeping a little bit of directional shape. You might have just convinced me! And they're at a better price point than the 5.0. I wonder if the build quality from Volkl will be able to keep up with the demand I'm sure there is for this ski after how much they've pushed it....

Yup, like skidemon said the 5.0 is stiffer and flat camber. I’ve skied all 3 of these and I can definitely say that the 5.0 is the chargiest of them. Super solid no matter what the conditions are. The 4.0 is a little softer and less directional/more freestyle oriented. The Revolt is good but I found it to be pretty soft, softer than the 2 Factions skis anyway. Twigs review was killer so definitely refer to that, but I’d say the 5.0 is your best bet
