Candide 3.0s vs Vision 108s for touring

Hey guys, i could use your help:

I`m getting rid of my old touring ski 4frnt raven with a kingpin, because for me being 6‘2, 200lbs the 184cm model with its 104mm waist is just not enough ski (should habe at least gone a size bigger i know). Maybe i‘m spoiled by riding 110mm+ skis basically all season, but contrary to the whole internet i didnt like the raven at all. Everytime the snow got semi bad or i tried to make aggressive turns it failed on me. Maybe its me, maybe the size, maybe its full rocker, who knows.

What i do know is that i want something a little bit bigger: I got a deal for a unused '20 candide 3.0 186cm (the one with the 108 waist) or a vision 108 188cm.

The ski should be primarily used for touring but maybe some resort days too, since i am getting rid of my prodigy 3.0 what i would usually use for this purpose.

As far as i read people really like the visions on here and tend to destroy candides, especially 3s?

The 3s would cost me about 100-150$ less and i love how my candides 4.0s and 5.0s ride.

The visions would be 100-200g lighter, not that this would matter a ton, since i am putting a shift on them anyway.

Would love to hear some thoughts!

Visions are the greatest touring Ski ever made Period. Not one time the last two seasons did I wish I was on another ski. From powder to icy Couloir‘s they do it all. They have a speed limit but that’s only noticeable in the resort(for me altleast)

That version of the Candide was super prone to breaking, I would avoid it. The top sheet was terrible and would chip everywhere and I know more than a few people who snapped theirs clean in half. The vision is a sick ski and would definitely work for what you’re looking for. The only place that the vision isn’t super comfortable (to me at least) is super heavy chop and hard snow. It’s way more versatile than I think people make it out to be, would be an awesome ski for what you want to do.
