Canadians?

I'm not proud of my country's foreign policy, economic policy, immigration policy, or even government for that matter. Come to think of it, our government has been the bully on the playground for a while now. No, I'm more proud of the people of the United States, who have made some really great accomplishments over the centuries. Every country has it's share of enemies around the world (ours definitely has more), and I'm not denying that. I'm not denying that our country can be a real asshole at times. But, I still think that some of the people that the USA has produced really represent the good things in the world, and that's what I'm proud of.

I have dual citizenship born in us live in canada. both countries are the best places in the world. hawaii in the US (dunno if it's actually a state???) and whistler/vancouver in canada the only two places I will ever live for the rest of my life.

I mean Canadians don't have anything against most of the U.S.(most of us hate your government... but we hate our own too (B.C. especially). But the thing that makes me laugh the most is all the yanks with their pride, but they wear canadian flags when they go traveling. But both countries are cool, and hey a little bit of dissing between the countries every now and again is cool too.

 
I've decided I don't care, we can bash on each other all we want, but there really doesn't seem to be a lot of difference between people from the two countries, the majority are pretty cool, skiers anyways.

 
Hey all to all you Yanks, please don't say there are no differences, we have some fundamental differences (we're socialists and your capitalists, you have a republic we have a constitutional monarchy, our beer is better are just some examples). Ok I won't rant but Canadians are a proud people even if e don't show it, and sovreignty is something we really value so by calling us the same is an insult, even if you don't mean to be insulting you are, so don't call us the same.

 
Oh and one last thing (sorry i'm going on a bit of a pro canada rant here) but to the dumbass who said we willing have terrorists in out country. NONE of the Terrorists of sept 11th attacks came from canada. and sure their are some connections to canada and we need to fix some of the problems but there is no way that we want terrorists in our country. So before you try and find a scape goat maybe you should think first.

 
Why do we diss Americans? Its a well known fact to everyone in the world, except Americans, that no body really likes you guys. Sorry, but every country in the world either hates you, or thinks you take yourself too seriously and thinks you're all homos.

there was a time i wished i was canadian...i still do...but not from like prince edwards or a newfy...i've met guys from there...they live next door and like to molest my roommates and some of my roommates...uh 2 words...beer goggles (but that's just me)

Amen Tele!. I think most people have grown up to believe that their home country is perfect. And They believe that (to different extents) because that's all they've even known. The difference is that Canada really is a mosaic of cultures rather than a melting pot. We don't all claim heritage to the same history so our history is not glorified.

i too am a proud canadian. however the U.S. does have some good features. there beer is weak but there whiskey is strong. there smokes will take out a grown man with one puff. and there women....holly molly.....they all like to wear next to nothing, all year around....DAMN.

sometimes the U.S. does over do it. that stunt with the torn flag at the opening olympic ceremonies...i mean come on. the olympics are neutral ground for sporting competition not an arena for political statements or to drum up military support.

to the people who say canada harbours terrorrists and stuff...get bent. they crossed your border...they entered your airports....and they highjacked your planes. enough with the 9/11. you yanks are getting your fix by blowing all the shit you can find up...leave us out of it.

I'm american, I love our citizens and hate our gov't. I like Canadians too. What say we all gang up against China? Another country where the citizens are great, but the gov't is a travesty. Their country got the Olympics despite the fact their human rights record is terrible. Why don't you ask a member of the Fulon Gong religious movement? Oh wait, you can't. They're all dead or in 'reeducation' camps, being tortured in ways unseen since the Inquisition. And they still get the Olympics....unbelieveable....

ok well one thing about america and canada is we really are a lot a like. When I went to vancouver island it looked the same as my town and stuff. so really we arent to different. and I tink that for people to fell national pride they have to put down other countries that is stupid. One of the reasons you guys can give lands back to inuits and indians is you still have huge tracts of empty space like nunavut or whatever. no one lives there cause it is damn cold and not many natural resources and stuff. American doesnt have many places like that. And not to many indians around here seem angry when a kid potowatomi turns 18 they get thousands of dollars and can always geta job at the casinos that are all over.

Not to add to the hate, but I think a lot of people, (not just Canadians)have a tendency to combine the American people and the American government into one entity. I distrust the American government, and I think it is one big pile of lies and coverups. I don't want to be identified with this bullshit government anymore than Canadians do. I used to be brainwashed into thinking that our government was awesome, but hte more I've learned the worse it's gotten, especially with George W. in the white house. What I'm saying is try to respect the American people, even if you don't respect the American government, as I do.

Also to the person who said that US is stealing our lumber (I know it was a while ago), in actual fact, Canadians are pushing our lumber on US. US is trying to put a tarrif on Canadian Lumber because US lumber producers are losing out.
