Is it possible to transport open alcohol (for example, 1/2 a 40 of rum) legally in a car?

I need proof.

I thought it was ok if its in the truck but im not 100% sure and I need to be.

when they state open container they mean either an non resealable bottle or something that's open in the car, if it has a cap on it and it's put away you should be set

yeah the cop will use his judgement for sure, plus you live in canada so they wont try to fuck you hard at all, here in the US you would probably get 5-10 for that. as long as its out of reach and you are sober im sure you are fine...

Q: What is the "open container" law?

A: Open

container laws prohibit the possession of any open alcoholic beverage

container and the consumption of any alcoholic beverage in the

passenger area of a motor vehicle.

yeah, cap it then put it in a bag in the trunk. don't be stupid and have it sittin out on the seat next to you.

i dont know if its legal but my cousin once got stopped and he had a opened 40 that was half filled in his cup holder and the cop didnt seem to care.

Its not so much that I care about it...but there is a parent that wont let their kid drive with it and is trying to prove a point.

Im trying to get around it by proving to them if its in the bed of the truck, its legal and fine.

good thing i didn't get caught when my bro opened up that crown royal and poured the rest into a water bottle while i was driving, not to mention i later found out that car was never insured in my name. hahhahah
