Does anyone else this great country will get fucked over if steven harper becomes prime minister?
 
Not really. I'm sort of hoping he'll live up to the whole "conservative" thing and be fiscally responsible and not fuck anything up too badly. Then after 4 years the swing voters who were stupidly persuaded by ludicrously funny slime ads will realize their mistake, and we'll have another decade under the liberals, who hopefully will shape up in the meantime.

But I'm still voting liberal.
 
I like paul martin better than steven harper, just because Harper is so damn ugly and I don't want to see him on TV any more than he is already. Personally I like jack layton, but not because of the politics, just because he's the only normal looking politician in canada.
 
politics are such bullshit, everythings such a scam.

we will never know the full truth as to whats going on, so theres no fucking point in even talking about it.

im just gunna do some damn reasearch on what each party is about, then vote for the most decent one. and hope they dont go and lose all our money.
 
FUCK Liberals. Consider that the budget of the Indian Affairs is equivalent to spending 70 000$ BY indians. Yet, why do these indians still live in extreme poverty? What the hell do all of those public workers DO in that building; couldn't they just GIVE 70K to each indian?? This is just one of countless examples that Liberals were so comfortable on their popularity that they became extremely corrupted, lazy and arrogant bastards.

I might be a bit harsh, but then again, in Quebec, the Liberal candidates themselves are stupid fucks; whereas the conservative ones are very interesting. The only scary thing about the conservatives is that little alliance branch but hey, good luck trying to revert gay marriage or defend abortion.

And please, nobody mention Kyoto. The Liberal government ratified it but... has ANY progress been made? Now that is political hypocrisy at it's best. Go figure.
 
and I'll bet you that almost all the First Nations' People will vote Liberal. Steven Harper just recently pissed off the Chiefs.
 
canada has increased its emissions of greenhouse gases by 20% since the Kyoto agreement, which is more than any other country.

O has anybody seen the new conservative ad with Layton's mounstache being put everywhere??? RIDICULOUS(but well done)!

The right middle, I think, is the NDP, but i highly doubt it stands a chance...
 
Finally, it looks as if our country is going to have a change, surely, for the better.
 
HArper is like pro bush and pro war in irak, so i begged my parents not to vote for him.

if i could, id always vote for the "parti vert".... green party?
 
kinda pisses me off how everyone bashes harper cause of his looks and that theyre afraid hell cozy up to the states.. obviosuly he wont be able to do anything the liberals and NDP dont like, cause theyll vote it down in parliament, checks and balances my good friends
 
unless of course he gets a majority, which is apparantly very possible now. the NDP is probably the right party for canada, but they're not gonna win. i really, really hope that harper doesn't get a majority.
 
I think last election they were predicting a conservative minority or even a slim chance of majority...but the liberals ended up getting a minority...it will be interesting to see what happens on monday

just think of how many $$$$$$ that we the people have just spent to end up just as it was back in november

No no. Harper will win, and declare himself Supreme Chancellor of Canada, with the aid of George Bush because we will be in bed with the US. Martial Law will be imposed, and Liberals will all have to wear an L on their clothes. We will no longer have rights and freedoms, so we at least wont have to worry about another vote in 18 months. I'm almost sure this will happen....
 
canada will become all mixed up with the us if harper wins. then pretty soon we will have planes crashing into the cn tower or something.

it's interesting how it appears majoirty of the people on NS dislike Harper, yet he's leading the polls by a bit. For I know NS doesnt represnt the average Canadians, but I think the conservatives will get much less votes then expected.
 
Don't worry, he will. I don't get people who say civil union for gay couple's is just as good. Civil union does not have the symbolism of marriage. I mean the passages in the bible to not ban marriage, and nothing else in levictus is followed anyways.

It isnt like the two lesbians down the street are gonna cause your children to reject "family values"
 
Harper scares me. I think as soon as he comes into power a lot will change for the worse in the country. The sponsorship scandal was bad for the liberals and it pisses me off the amount of money wasted by them but in the end it comes down to chosing what you think the lesser of two evils are.

either way whoever wins, martin or harper it will be a minority government and we will be back to the polls within 2 years maybe less.
 
at least if stephen harper gets voted in we will have more independace. While Paul Martin claims that stephen harper will be Bush's bitch, he is the on who's party was involved in the scam that took mad cash. He hasn't really done anything to improve the military (canada wouldnt have been able to win a war against Iraq). If Stephen Harper gets voted in he will improve the military and make the country more able to stand on it's two feet, and then when he starts with his evilness he will not win the next election and so on.

This has become a 2 partie race, Liberalism vs conservatism. Either side you chose, you lose. We are now chosing between stuff we want to hear vs what be believe is a correct political decision.

We all know Harper is all about talk to hide his real intentions and Martin is all about hiding his failures. Harpers fiscal plan bring the country into debt, 3 billion dollars in debt. He also claims that our surplus will help pay the plans. Do you guys know what that surplus is? Its our economic safety net in case of a recession. Remember guys, he is a right wing politician. The problem with them is that THEY ARE UNPREDICTABLE, take Bush for example.

Even I support Liberals, I believe in democraty. Before making your choice, think of the facts before judging the appearence of the candidated.
 
Personally i wanna vote fore the Green Party but i know that it's just a waste of a vote so i'll vote Liberal.

at school, they organized a vote but like its just for the purpose of school like were not even 18...kinda gay, and theres not even the marijuana party in the choices...
 
yeah this is what i was thinking, but we need to lose this two party system. i think im going to go vote green anyway, and fuck strategic voting.
 
Why do we need an Army?

Well Ill give you at least one quick thing to think about. Why do we not have an Army?

Practically every European Nation and many others in the world makes ours look silly. Maybe you think its because we are such a peaceful nation that we should never have to worry about it to begin with. I can tell you one thing, Switzerland has way less than us to worry about and they could tool us in a hypothetical war.

Is Canada not suppose to be a great nation that helps other nations? Well I thought so, but sometimes help is needed in the form of an Army whether you like it or not.

Plus, to no suprise anyway, where you are from, you apparently needed them when it snowed a little too much for you.

So anyway, the next time you respond, really really try and think about why you need to call someone else fuckin retarded, especially when he had a perfectly legitimet point. All you end up doing is proving to everyone who that person you figure to be, really is.
