Recently talked to a mod about the chance of a Canadian Buy/Sell/Trade Forum. Here's the deal :

Sellers: START PUTTING "CDN" AT THE BEGINNING OF YOUR THREAD POST IN BST FORUM. If NS notices a Canadian outburst (plenty of "CDN" threads), there is a possibility of a Canadian BST Forum being created.

Hope this is a popular idea
 
im not from canada, but this sounds like if could be a big help to all those who have wanted to buy an item just to hear "i wont ship to canada"

this should be made
 
So you're proposing that someone puts CDN in the thread title if they are in Canada, or if they are willing to ship to Canada?

I would think that it could be looked at the other way around where if someone is only prepared to ship within their country then state it in the title e.g. CDN only, US only

What about other places in the world? I'm in Australia and international shipping is NOT a bitch, so i don't get why people won't do it. Just saying that it's probably better to put something for those people who won't ship to certain places, rather than for those who will ship to Canada
 
the only way that ns will create this forum is if there is enough participation by canadian sellers. the only reason why they took this idea into consideration is because of the amount of north american BSTs. if you want to propose your own idea to a mod, go ahead. i just dont think that you will get enough participation from all of australia.

the CDN only, US only is a good idea. they will probably think about that, as they are monitoring this, and another, thread's progress.

so just to be sure, you are saying all the sellers should put which places they will ship to at the beginning of their thread title? ie.: INT = international, CDN = canadian, US = american, etc.?
 
He is a mod. Seems kind of pointless to me. Just open the fucking thread and hopefully the buyer states whether or not they ship internationally. What can a mod do about this? They just moderate the site and keep it in good shape, an admin will be the one who could do something about a Canadian BST. I don't see it happening though.
 
It would be very impractical for people willing to ship to both places. Everyone should just put the countries they will ship tho somewhere in their post, its not that hard to open a thread and read a little.
 
i sometimes buy things from canada tho or ship stuff there, it kinda eliminates the people who wanna buy and sell across the border
 
you know what NS should do? fucking change the name of crash and yard sale, and or make a category for sale pictures. BETTER yet, educate the people on private pictures. FUCK. come on guys.
 
sorry i ment talk to an admin. and why would people make titles for any thread then? why dont you just open it to read it? cause they want to see the content of the thread in a couple words. why the fuck would anybody want to open every single thread just to figure out what its about. it should already be stated in the title
 
making a canadian BST forum wouldnt eliminate the option for non-canadians to purchase stuff from canadians... just when canadians are a minority on this site, but still an average percent of the population, it is hard to find someone from the states who will ship to canada.

solution: make a separate forum for canadian sellers, or split the BST forum up into sections in which the seller is willing to ship to. for example: US BST = sellers will only ship to the US, CDN BST = sellers will only ship to canada, UNI BST = universal
 
Its fine how it is now.

You can state in the title or thread where you will or won't ship. If someone doesn't read your thread and asks you to ship to one of the places you don't want to ship to then you can simply say no. Also, I don't find a problem with shipping internationally. All you have to do is pay more and fill out a customs form. You can just have the buyer pay for shipping. I've sold multiple items to different people on Canada and bought items from Canadians as well. A regional B/S/T forum will get less traffic. No one goes on regionals anymore while everyone is on NSG. Selling and buying in separate forums also reduces the amount of exposure your post gets, and therefore the smaller chance you will find a buyer/seller. It's fine how it is now and theres nothing to fix.
 
So basically you want this entirely new forum made that will reduce the amount of buying, selling and trading, just so you don't get sad when someone has something you want but won't ship it to you.
 
What if I want to buy shit from Canada, then I have two forums to look through? You aren't making sense. I think the CDN is something that will get confused VERY quickly and cause a ruckus. The comment about opening everything was just totally stupid and nothing NEAR what I was talking about so I won't try to explain it again.
 
you were telling me to stop being lazy and just open the thread to find out where they will ship to/ask them were they will ship to. its easy for you to say because you in an american, which take up well over the majority of this site. meaning, if you find one person that wont ship to the US or one person that will ship to the US but lives in canada, it isnt a big deal because there is probably half a dozen other people selling the same product. being a minority, we have to look 10 times as hard just to find someone that either lives in canada, or will ship to canada. then if you can only find someone who will ship to canada, you end up paying this massive fee if the product is over 50 dollars. for example: i bought kaos' for 200 CAD last week, plus 40 dollars just to ship, and when i got them, i was charged with a 72 CAD border fee. dealing with canadians when you are canadian is less time consuming (time it takes to ship) and definately less expensive, because i paid 135% of what i would have had to pay if i was buying canadian.

basically im saying, if you lived in canada or got a chance to see what its liek to try and buy something on the BST forum being a canadian, you would see my point. because it sucks ass. kinda the reason why im proposing these ideas.
