Canada: the worst country for domestic travel

Can someone in the know legitimately tell me why it costs me literally 10 dollars more to go from Calgary to London, than it does Calgary to Toronto?

I know we don't have much airline competition, but this is just fucking ridiculous. There is no place in the world where domestic travel costs more. Westjet should be ashamed of itself for even trying to call themselves a discount airline and Air Canada as a corporation would do best just to go under.

domestic flights in the US are pretty cheap. I usually get one way flights on southwest for 100 or less.

Yea Air canada charges so much its ridiculous, but i think westjet is a bit better than they are. and whats in london that u need? seriosly?

I think it's to do with distance, since we ( I live in Vancouver) Are pretty close to the north pole for further flights they fly closer to the top of the earth and it saves a shitload of time. It kind of hard to visualize but makes sense to me, it faster to go around a ball 3/4 of the way up than it is at the equator. That being said Westjet can lick my nuts, all the flight attendants are bitches

Seriously? I have never had a problem with Westjet flight attendants, they are always so fun and friendly. It's Air Canada that usually has the middle-aged bitchy female quebecois flight attendants.

And regarding flight costs, it has nothing to do with distance, it is due to the lack of competition in the domestic market, which is the government's fault. Same reason why cell phone fees are so high in this stupid country.

Probably because you didn't look carefully enough to see that it was London, ONTARIO, which is next to toronto not London, England.

haha there you go sport...

but that seems odd because i dont think the airport at london ontario (if there is one) is going to be able to accommodate a 737.

But I think i'm wrong there...

Because 33/15 and 27/06 are both long enough...

that might be true if he was looking to buy a one way ticket, but i'm assuming he wants a round trip. either way that sucks. just try to fly jetblue

Hey thanks. Thats exactly it. In fact the moved Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton and Stansted to Ontario. How did they do this you ask? Well it was done through the Chunnel. In fact while they were at it they took Big Ben and the Millenium bridge and the London eye. Ontario is a whole different place now.

Don't ever try again.

one time i got stranded in canada without a damn thing because some crazy ass canadian stole my familys truck along with over $100,000 worth of cargo (snowmobiles and gear, brand new truck, brand new aluminum 32 foot enclosed trailer), plus our passports and wallets and creditcards, and the three ipods i took along (and my cellphone). and i say he was crazy because A. we were parked behind a police car. B. it was broad daylight. and C. he almost ran us over when we ran after him.

after a 20 mile highspeed persuit, the truck and trailer jacknifed and he was arrested (we were told he escaped from jail?! wtf?).

Moral of the story: Dont stop at a burger king outside of montreal.

thats just about my only experiance of domestic candadian travel hahah

DONT FLY THROUGH PERSON airport.....it adds at least $100 per person......its rediculous

living in toronto whenever my family flys anywhere, we drive down to buffallo airport and save a ton of money.

Actually why don't you come and do it for me? It might be tricky since plane tickets are so expensive to Calgary. Oh, but in case you do, make sure thats Calgary AB, and not Scotland. Follow the thread, clown.
