Canada raised it's drinking age?

pretty sure. went drinking like last week. and i live right near ottawa on the quebec side. so yea. no worries i dont think.
 
right on my friend. but convience stores in quebec will sell booze to anyone. as long as you look 17ish.
 
I don't know, a friend of mine said they raised the age on jan 1st, so I just thought I'd check it out.
 
haha... you don't need an ID to drink in canada. look this is what we did over the summer:

we took a nice little 4 day trip to Ontario. Now we were only 18 at the time. So all you do is pick up an empty beer bottle at the bar. take it up with you, and politely ask for another. I went up multiple times without one and i was still served. Now this is Ontario mind you... in quebec they would probably serve my 14 year old brother.
 
The drinking age hasn't changed anywhere in canada.

It's awlays been:

BC - 19

Alberta- 18

Saskatchewan - 19

Manitoba - 18

Ontario - 19

Quebec - 18

And im not sure about the maritime provinces, but i do beleive the rest are correct.
 
thank goodness, someone tryed to trick me into thinkin they raised it to 21. i was like fuck there goes my 19th bday party
 
imagine how much money they would lose if they raised the drinking age. they already lost so much business just from making bars smoke free so stopping people from smoking was harsh enough but raising the age would be like stabbin them in the eye with a pencil
 
but stopping smoking in public places was a huge increase in public health because second hand smoke will affect everyone including the non smokers. raising the drinking age wont accomplish anything because people drink underage anyway all the time.
 
But its a bar, people generally go there to poison themselves.

Businesses should decide if they want a smoke free environment. They could have signs on their doors saying smoke-free or smoking. If some don't like smoky environments, they don't have to go in the building. I'm getting way off topic here... the drinking age hasn't changed.
