thinking of a quick canada trip from mid march to mid april next year - only time it really works

question is whether the snow is still good enough to make it worth it? think like a week in whistler, week in revy, few days at red/kicking horse then Vancouver either end

blower pow the whole time would be nice, but a few deep days id be happy

If you're out in BC for a month, I'd assume there'd be at least some snow. Hell we skied pow in late april and may in Washington last year.

Also to add to this, I skied until the 18th, closed the 22nd I believe and the conditions where amazing

Think my hill closed end of April last season

Whistler is touristy but I don't think we had at least a day of sun being there around March 17th-24th. It snowed about a foot throughout the week but it was nice. Upper mountain was skiing great and down below was slushy corn + tons of drunk aussies and americans.

Could get a fuck ton of snow, could get rain. The crowds die down a ton after spring break so you’re probably best off keeping your plans flexible as long as possible (maybe with the exception of Whistler). This way if somewhere iffier for snow (like Red) isn’t looking so great you can head somewhere like Lake Louise instead.

Fly into Calgary, get a rental van.

Kicking Horse

Revy

Whistler

Mt. Seymour

Whitewater

Red Mountain

Fernie

Back to Calgary.

That will give you a pretty non bullshit travel loop and you'll see the whole province. The trip will also cost a SHIT load of money. But you should do it. Snow will be good snow will be bad just go skiing every day and make the best of it! Sounds awesome

Yeah this is for sure the move.

I took my son to Whistler last March (first week) and the snow was great. The bottom part of both mountains was getting soggy for sure but you won’t want to ski that part of the hill anyway. We actually got five gloriously clear days which was a huge win since we really wanted to be able to take in the views. On the top of Whistler you can see literally forever. Such a majestic part of the world.

a day in Panorama wouldn't go amiss too. Good snow cover due to loads of snowmaking and no lift lines all day. Park can be decent too

Cost is doable if you get strategic.

The Lake Louise Plus card gets you discounts at Lake Louise, Castle (can’t hit up Fernie and skip Castle), Panorama and Red. Ikon 4-Day gets you to Cypress, Revelstoke, Sunshine, Sun Peaks (plus is another option for Lake Louise, Panorama and Red). Epic 4 (or more) Day Passes gets you access to Whistler, Kicking Horse, Fernie and Kimberley.
