Canada just tryin' to be like its big bro

isn't that what this whole thread is about? i chose jersey because i'm from jersey. and i said that jersey has less people than canada, so why does it mater that it has less people than ontario, a province 45 times bigger than jersey? i could have easily chose california, new york, or new england, which would have even more artists, but i didn't need to because jersey suffices.

canada's very popular artist are niel young, rush, nickelback, bare naked ladies, celine dion

jersey has frank sinatra, akon, bruce springstein, whitney houston, bon jovi, george clinton, kool and the gang

i think its safe to say that jersey puts out more rock stars than canada.

rock stars, sure. but that doesnt equate to talent. just look at the Jonas Brothers. They're by no means rock stars, and very popular ones at that, but they are horribly untalented. United States will have more rock stars based on a larger audience. In Canada it's tough for even the most talented musicians to get recognition. compare a band like Protest the Hero. amazingly talented, absolutely ridiculous at what they do, but they don't have the fan base they would get if they were from the US. Same with bands like the Mahones or even the most popular rappers like Classified, if they were from the US and had that fan base they would be way more popular. And the fact the Canada is bombarded with US media, which plays US artists, doesnt help at all either. Bottom line, talent-wise Canada is in no way lacking behind the US. Just in recognition. And if you want to pull out the "more rock stars" then let's compare Great Britain to US. They have 5 times less people and absolutely destroy US in the number of rock stars.

i didn't mention the jonas brothers, who happen to be from jersey, for that reason, but the u.s still has more rock stars than great britain. they might have some of the biggest ones, but the u.s still crushes them in quantity.
