I guess most of you are too young to remember the days when the was no such thing as bit torrent and limeware and napster. There once was a time when the only way to get music was to buy it. The free ride can't last forever. I'm surprised it has taken this long. That being said, if you actually read into this bill most closely, you'll see that it isn't as bad as the one currently in place in the US, AND if you are just one guy downloading songs for personal use, chances are you won't be prosecuted. However, if you're downloading 50,000+ songs, maybe. They bill is being enacted to crack down on those profitting from illegal downloading as well as chronic abusers, not really your average person.
What is really stupid is senator Larry Campbell is trying to enact a bill that will ban the NFL from Canada.
