Can you ski at resorts after they close.

I see all the postseason coronavirus ski edits at the little patch of snow left at the resorts, can you get in trouble for this, or are then are a thing to be cautious of if I was gonna go do this. I have my own pvc to bring so I don't need to steal rails or anything just trying to find some snow before it's all gone. So is this a good idea or do I just stick to the back yard Msnow.

it depends, some mountains it's fine and some it's not. usually will depend on who owns the land/how it's managed and then of course, where the staff are and if they care

This season is probably a little sketch just due to the virus but some mountains are fine with it, just stay out of the way if there is anything going on such as maintenance or building of such. If you know how to contact the mountain you wan to go hike then maybe contact them and ask.

my home resort was fine with it for like 2 weeks and then they shut down the uphill policy as soon as maine got a stay at home order. now if u get caught u will get a phat fine. be carful too, i blew my mcl and there was no patrol on the mountain.

Usually it's fine with resorts, but as oldmanski said this season might not be great since it would be a place where a lot of people could congregate and hike a rail or something which might not be the best thing right now

Normally places wouldnt care, but its so diffrent with this virus going on, they could get in trouble for making it a hot spot. Im in NY and its a big fat "stay the fuck home" on all fronts right now.

So pissed they canceled spring skiing, thats my favorite time.

Most places aren’t chill you’ll just get kicked out and a stern talking to. The key is to find a patch of snow in a low key area where you won’t get caught

this is the biggest issue that I wish more people would consider. Yes you technically can get away with skiing right now, but is that honestly the right call? If you get super hurt and go to the hospital that's taking away medical resources for unnecessary injuries you got when you "should" be at home. It's definitely questionable, and debatably pretty selfish.

I'm still on the fence about how I feel ethically about skiing/mtn biking/etc right now, even when completely social distanced. Curious to hear other peoples views on it

This is the answer right here, find a patch of snow in the woods near your house and build a mellow jib.

I don't know about the rest of you fellas but all it really takes for me to satisfy the skiing craving is like 2 turns and maybe 6 inches of air hahaha. That's all I'm really trying to do now, not trying to learn new tricks or get sendy or anything like that. Just gotta scratch that itch
