Can you rebend a ski pole?

The other day I somehow bent my pole at a 45 degree angle about a foot from the bottom. It's bugging the crap out of me so I want to try to fix it. What's the best way to rebend it without affecting the structural integrity of the pole, or is this not possible?

I would think maybe heating it up with a blow torch, but that can also be bad for the metal. I would try heating it up. it may melt the paint but who cares.

You can rebend a ski pole, I've done it before, but where the poles been bent and then rebent, it's always going to be weak in that one place.

Like said above that it will be weak in that same spot, also u have to be very carful because I broke my pole at that same exact degree

i have bent my poles a shit ton. just next time your on the chairlift take your pole and smack it of the bar and keep hitting it until its back to normal

This does work, but if it is bent at a large angle the chance of it breaking while trying to bend it back is greater.

you know how you would break a branch or stick with your knee for firewood? do the same thing but bend the pole back. all you need is some good leverage and it should bend no problem

Some gentle heating from a halogen or hot plate hob before bending it back is the best way of dealing with a bend without melting the paint off with a blowtorch. Good luck and if it fucks up, you can always steal/buy new cheap poles

For small bends you can hit it against a tree or chairlift a bunch to slowly bend it back. With a large angle bend, you should take the handle off and fill the pole with sand or something like that and then work on bending the pole back by hitting it on something or bend it across your knee. The sand should help to prevent crimping the pole when you bend it making it less likely of breaking.

it depends on the type of pole, i bent my old race poles tried to bend them back and they broke, i have bent my new line poles 3 times this season and i just bend then back over my knee. i would say you have a 50/50 chance of breaking it, i do it all the time though

I've never had luck with this. But i've heard that if u heat it enough, u can bend it back slowly with out it snapping.

I bend mine back all the time. I can either stick it in between the lift and the bar and bend. Or to safe I heat it a lot with a hair dryer and bend it. Just be careful of breaking it.

as smart as this may be.. you guys are trying wayy too hard to fix poles here.

find a shitty old pair and cut them to your size or take some rentals..
