I just got a small core shit on my first day out skiing. shit! is there anyway i can fix it a little? its relatively small and i dont want it to effect me
why are you afraid to let your parents know? my parents would not care, my dad would just ptex it up. what you have to do it cut out around the "wound" and then fill it is, file and scrape it down. no big deal
p tex. i got 2 small core shots my first day out, take a razor blade and cut around so its nice and clean and fill it in then scrape. ive been skiing about 5 times after the shot and it works just fine. a friend got a core shot at the beginning of last year, p tex filled it and has been skiing on it all last year and this season and still hasn't fallen out. shouldnt have a problem
If you can see the core, get it epoxyed at your local shop. If its just a small chunk, either fill it with p-tex if you are that concerned about it, or dont worry about it. A small dent wont affect preformance at all.
i got a core shot last year.. make sure its super super dry and clean with acetone and dry again... then melt some ptex into the hole and over fill then scrape off with a razor... dont bother buying the ptex sticks do what i did, take an old pair of skis (if you got em) and hack out a slice its works all the same!!!good luck but get it fixed fast cuz delam is a bitch
Cheap way to fix a core shot: Get a candle stick, melt the wax over the hole, compress the with your thumb, remove excess with straightedge, repeat. Worked great for me.
