Can you design a ski?

well i saw on k2's web site last year as well as this year on their factory series that you can supposidly design a ski but it has said coming soon for about a year and a half... is this true that you will be able to design a ski, and is there any company out there that does this?? becasue it would be pretty sick if you could

 
high doutful, but that would be cool, it would cost way to much money and time for a company

i think they just make an outline for you to draw in, they don't actually produce it.

yeah i was thinkin that 2, maybe in 4-5 years when companys are huge and have lots of workers and money they could do that for a price

they should make stickers that go over the whole ski for a different graphic

The sprayers were originally goin to be very plain with a sticker and stencil pack to make ur own graphics which would have been sick. I think there was a snowboard company that was trying to get into skiing on a small scale with custom jobs but i cant recall who it was or if they went through with it!

revolution will build costum skis to a poin you cant change sidecut or shape but you can do flexibility materials graphics all that shit!

when they update their site it should be buildaboard.com now you can do snowboards just not skis on their site

Burton does that. you can produce your own board on their site and get your name put on it and stuff. very much like the NIKE ID thing. customizing stuff is so hot right now

maybe the ski companys should take a look at burton and how they do that customization and see if they can do it for skis

 
i dont think having your name would be that cool. id be kinda lame. maybe initials or monogram or something.

prajekt skis have tons of graphics u can choose from for each ski...thats about as close to designing ur own ski as u can get right now

 
you dont have to put your name. you select the shape, the edges, what its made of, and the graphics.

Its just some outline to drawn them and stuff. But they never made it. It just always says "coming soon". Last I checked...

it would not br very hard, it could be like the thing on snowboardmaterials.com where they sublimate your image onto a topsheet. it only costs $40, it would be very possivle for a small company to do that.
