that was by no means meant to be hateful in any way, i personally had completely read past that by accident, but in any case i think we should stick to dealing with GT first, which needs the most attention of any of the threads (not to say the mods arent doing their jobs, i can only assume that their hands are full with nsg and sg), but we can focus on the issues in the other threads once GT has been dealt with
Alright so I have brought myself up to speed, so I'll lay down a comment here.
Basically I will start by saying, who is really in a position to decide who's saga/firstdrop/jiberish/etc question is any more valid than the last guy. Gear Talk is a place for people to come ask questions and get answers, we are not trying to turn the forum into a wiki with only the best of the best written threads allowed. We do try and keep it clean with the worst threads being removed, but we aren't going to start filtering each and every question people want to ask, because in some way its important to them. We will continue to encourage people to use the search, and to bump existing threads, but we wont force them
Second the idea of forum specific mods is a good one, but not a feature we currently have, and our development calender is full for the next few months. Not saying it will be added, but it is something to consider.
Splitting is something we can consider, but again I won't promise that just yet. The forums and how they are divided isn't something we can just shake up.
In the mean time, try and be helpful and make good use of it the way it is. If someone asks a question on sizing and you know the answer, why not post it. Takes just as much time to post "Fits smaller than the size" as it does to post "Searchbar you newb!!", and that way you also end up with 2 threads with the real answer that someone can find when searching. Remember, posting useless responses does nothing but bring poor threads to the top again, if its not worthwhile, just let it die.

its not so much that we arent willing to answer the questions, its that the exact same questions repeatedly, and there have been threads made that usually stay on top for everyone to see, yet the exact same threads keep getting made over and over again

Thanks Chris, seeing things from the admin side helps for sure. I didn't think any changes would happen overnight, but good to know that you're aware of some possible solutions.
For now, I definitely think he's right when he says let shitty threads die out. If you can quickly answer an obvious question fine, but if not (or care not) just let it fall to page two.

Yes thank you, I knew it was a good idea, at least your considering. I feel with a few mods whose ONLY duty is to cover NSG, they will always be right there when troll threads pop up.

this, another reason that some gt specific mods/"experts", i mean sometimes it is funny to troll a little and just give such obviously wrong advice, but if people think they are giving genuinely good advice when they are really doing the opposite, that is not good for gt or ns and its members, gt mods/experts could delete those ill-informed posts and inform/correct everyone as to the correct advice.
