Can these poles be cut?

Hey Ns,

So i have a pair of these salomon brigade poles (in red and black) and I was looking to cut them down just a little bit. My only dilemma is that the top part of the shaft has a leather like contour and was wondering if maybe this will affect it's cut-ability? Here is a link to the poles : http://www.salomonfreeski.com/caus/ski/poles/poles/brigade.html Hopefully someone can give me some advice whether i should just go for it and try to cut them or if it's not worth it at all.

Thanks

you can probably just cut through the leather with a hacksaw, that's what you're gonna need in order to cut the poles anyways.

ya. the main thing im worried about though is getting the grip back on... like if theres a section at the top were theres no leather so if i cut it i wont be able to fit the grip back on....

if that's the case then you can measure out the length of the uncovered part before you cut, then after you cut take a regular knife and cut that amount of leather off so you expose the pole underneath.
