Can the iphone unlock to verizon?

no, you cant use the iphone on verizon. AT&T uses the GSM network and verizon uses the CDMA network. It cant be done. GSM uses a simcard verizon does not. cant be done.

yeah i bot a phone that was claimed to be unlocked on the internet and then it wouldnt work on verizon because it wasn't cdma

the thing with unlocked phones is that most of them you cant get online or email. also, as far as att, you cant send MMS either. If you have spring, I would buy the HTC Touch or the LG glide. HTC is an amazing company, Blackberry is one of the best though. Blackberry blows the iphone out of the water. the number one complaint about the iphone is the signal strength. then number two is the battery, its intergrated, so if you have to replace it you have to send it to apple, pay $74 or so and be out of a phone for a few weeks. also, with the iphone you HAVE to have the unlimited data plan which is $30 for the iphone now. the old iphone it was $20. so if you havae the $39.99 plan you have to ass $30 to that. even if you dont want it.

it could, but you have to figure out how to get the sim card out. its not easy like a normal phone. if you want the iphone, just get att.

It probably was unlocked if they said it was. That means you can use it with any company that uses GSM technology. In Europe and other places in the world, that would really be unlocked, because almsot all the brands use GSM. However in the stupid USA, phone companies do not like to be like the rest of the world and embrace GSM, so barely anyone uses it. I think only AT&T is GSM compatable, and maybe CIngular is thinking about it or something.

I heard that the iPhone was supposed to be for verizon originally, but the idiots at verizon turned it down, so now at&t has it.

Yeah. But it was because Apple had crazy demands. They wanted to have a TON of the profit from the plans that went with the phone. And wanted to regulate pretty much every aspect of it. Verizon just couldn't work with that.

Boy that proposal sounds an aweful lot like the other major computer company that Apple like to rag on 24/7...Good thing apple are the good guys!

lulz...

Well in the simpliest sense, it is just a piece if hardware...anyone with the skills should be able to reprogram it to do whatever they want it to.

Not that it really matters, but just to clarify; T-Mobile is not owned by Vodafone. T-Mobile is a huge-ass german company. Vodafone owns Verizon.

For the original poster - like everyone said it cannot be done. If you think youll look that much cooler with an iphone, then you need to switch to ATT (save yourself the headache of bricken it while trying to get it on T-Mobile.

And the new Touch Diamond should be hitting Verizon soon enough. I'd get this insteed. http://www.htc.com/www/product.aspx?id=46280
