Can the car wash jack up your skis

my sis drove my car through the car wash while my skis were in the racks. what could this do. could this dissolve the wax, tarnish edges? i was thinking maybe the grease on the bindings could have dissolved with the soap and whatnot. what do you guys think?

how does a car wash differ at all from skiing? It's just wet water rather than frozen water. And soap won't do anything.

ha that big spinning brush would rip your shit right off the top prolly. try it and get video so we can see your skis get annihilated

k thanks guys i knew it wouldn't do much damage but jsut thought maybe the detergents could act as solvents for the grease or something.

is there a man eating monster after you after this horrible incident? if no your skis are fine and the edges might rust a wee bit

NO NO NO NO not wd40. that stuff acts as a temporary lubricant, yes. but will breakdown any of the grease that is in there. trust me.

What cycle did she use? I can't see anything being wrong with your skis unless wax got into the bindings.

if it does anything to the wax...so what, re-wax...its fun

if it rusts, run a file on yer edges...good to go...

soap is used in summer sessions so thats all good.

Not all, but a lot of the "touchless" gas station washes use some rather harsh chemicals to compensate for the lack of any real brushes/rollers, etc. They will certainly strip the wax off of your car (and skis). I would be a little concerned about the lubricant in your bindings. Check your binding for sure. If they need lubricant, you want a heavy grease, not a thin spray on lubricant--those don't last very long.
